This is part two of a three-part post that identifies and fleshes out seven characteristics of life-giving people.
Not long after I was diagnosed with cancer, I was compelled to reexamine the topic of prayer and totally reboot my prayer life and start over. I dedicated a full year to this – I read classic books on prayer, sought wise counsel from more mature believers, and experimented with different forms of prayer.
Violence has broken out between left- and right-wing protesters, after more than 100 black-clad masked antifa broke through police barricades at a ‘Rally Against Hate’ and assaulted at least four, including the leader of a prayer group.
When a think of the phrase life-giving people, my mind immediately shows me the faces of several friends who fit that description. These are the people I absolutely love being around. They bring encouragement, joy, and life into my life. Who are the faces that come into your mind?
In this program Dr. Joe Beam relies not just on his PhD earned while researching marital and sexual satisfaction, but also on his Bachelor’s degree and many hours of graduate courses in Bible. He explains what the Bible says about sexuality in marriage and points out a specific section that addresses directly the subject of sexual refusal in marriage.
by Rob Waugh, Yahoo News UK Archaeologists excavating in Jerusalem have found burned artifacts dating from 2,600 years ago – which prove that a passage in the Bible is true. Researchers uncovered charred wood, grape seeds, fish scales, bones and pottery while digging in the City of David in Jerusalem. The find provides evidence that the Babylonians ‘burned all the houses of Jerusalem’, described in the book of Jeremiah. Researchers from the Israel Antiquities Authority found the artifacts beneath layers of rock in the City of David – along with jars with seals which enabled the researchers to date the artifacts. full story ALSO SEE: Is God Real? Australian TV host Richard Wilkins thinks he knows the real reason why Bieber abandoned his global trek months before it was scheduled to wrap up: To “reconnect with his faith” and potentially start his own church.
The number of Russians who identify as atheists has fallen by 50 percent in just three years, according to a recent poll by the Levada research center. The poll, which was conducted in late June, revealed that the number of Russian atheists, or those who consider themselves “absolutely irreligious,” fell sharply from 26 percent in 2014 to just 13 percent in 2017. Religious believers now make up 86 percent of the population, the survey found, with 44 percent describing themselves as “quite religious,” 33 percent as “not too religious” and 9 percent as “very religious.” Levada, a non-governmental Russian research center, conducted the survey on a representative all-Russian sample of […]
One of Satan’s primary strategies for harming American Christians is to convince them that he doesn’t exist. But that’s not all…
WASHINGTON — The Trump administration is “very concerned” at the sight of growing tensions on the Temple Mount, known to Muslims as Haram al-Sharif, where security has been tightened since a terrorist attack last week. “The United States is very concerned about tensions surrounding the Temple Mount/Haram Al-Sharif, a site holy to Jews, Muslims, and Christians, and calls upon the State of Israel and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to make a good faith effort to reduce tensions and to find a solution that assures public safety and the security of the site and maintains the status quo,” White House press secretary Sean Spicer said in a statement on Wednesday […]
More Christian than Muslim refugees have been admitted to the United States in the first months of the Trump administration, reversing a trend that had seen Muslims outnumber Christians in the final fiscal year under President Barack Obama, a Pew Research Center analysis of U.S. State Department refugee data has found. From Donald Trump’s first full day in office on Jan. 21 through June 30, 9,598 Christian refugees arrived in the U.S., compared with 7,250 Muslim refugees. Christians made up 50% of all refugee arrivals in this period, compared with 38% who are Muslim. Some 11% of these arrivals belong to other religions, while about 1% claim no religious affiliation. One of the effects of increasing Christian persecution in the Middle East is the creation of a diaspora. Many believers are left with no choice but to make the perilous journey to Europe in the hopes of landing a spot in one of many over-crowded migrant camps. Others choose to wander the region as nomads, with no reassurance that they will be able to return to their homelands any time soon. The Nineveh Plain region, also known as the Plain of Mosul, has been the ancestral homeland of Assyrian-Chaldean-Syriac Christians, Yazidis and other minorities — all of whom were under attack from ISIS once the terror group started to control […]
My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the LORD. Psalm 84:2 In his best-selling book, Seeing the Unseen, Joe Beam described what he thought his first moments in heaven might be like. “I’ll see angels of all kinds, godly people singing, and the Loving Light streaming from the throne. Somewhere, sometime, in that introduction to the home of God, I expect to hear an angel call my name. He’ll know me, though I won’t yet know him. ‘Joe. Good to see you here. Welcome home.’” When we study the biblical descriptions of heaven, we realize such a scene isn’t far-fetched, and Joe’s eagerness for heaven is healthy. […]
