You only need to look it up. The origins of the ID movement are the political manifestation of 6000yr creationism.
It is another religious issue politicised.

Creationism is the religious belief that the world is 6000 years old.

Creationists, whether democrat or republican (although it is mainly republican, you just need to look at the school board votes) are the ones doing it
 
After being thrown of science classes for the past 100 years creationists have built a political lobby behind creationism, and re-labelled it ID to look like a science. This way they can get back into the schools etc to teach their agenda.


It goes further in a political sense in that like politics, it is about converting people to your way of thinking, even if you know its wrong. Corruption is rife in politics, (recently I studied a few examples of this in ethics class) politicians will often do things they know is wrong just to get more votes.

The wedge document by the discovery institute is a prime example of this. It laid out a framework for the total removal of evolution from US schools over the next 20 years. Interestingly, the wedge document only talked about how to manipulate the legal system and create an IMAGE of better science to get ID into schools. It spoke nothing about doing more research into ID, or looking for ways to prove it.

I am of the opinion that ID is much easier to understand than evolution. If people can understand it easier, they are going to go for it. Unfortunately, it does not matter what the mass public thing when science is concerned.

 the political affiliation of creationists is beside the point of its politicisation. Like I said, whether they label themselves republicans or democrats, it doesnt matter.

when a party wants to get votes, it can divide people by generating a controversy. If a party such as the British National Party (Britains equivelant of the Nazis), wants votes they will refocus the issue of say poverty, onto a minority. Therefore getting it support.

There is no substance to anything they say, but because they have made the issue about something it isnt, they collect votes.


ID, takes a religious issue, and makes it about science. It ofcourse, is not a science, but because they have made people think it is, they garner support.

The politicisation I mean is that it is pitting people against one another over a false issue. Just like a lot of politics does.


Now this is where I am going to show you what I mean, and how effective this stratagy is.

It is a non-issue because there is a 99% scientific consensus that evolution is correct....Now I just need to wait for the inevitable reply to this sentence....
