http://duffrdan.blogspot.com/ When something has been around long enough
and is a matter of almost universal consensus,
the fact that it is an interpretation, one among
many possible ways of seeing and thinking,
becomes invisible. It simply seems "true" "right,"
the "only possibility." But everything we human
beings do, think, and believe is interpretation.
What we think reflects our community's past,
our gender experience, our very personal angle
on things. Interpretation attends how we use
the Bible, how we conceive church education,
and how we think of preaching. Interpretations
that have cumulated over centuries in particular
images and concepts tend to have the character
of paradigms.
