Who taught you about God? Who is your God?

A sin that leads to death is one where a person who knows God knows an act is wrong and willingly commits that act.

There is one sin that leads to death; rejection of Jesus as the narrow door into Eternal Life.

Garbage!  Show me that in the Written Word of God.  Also show me where it says that Jesus is the narrow door.  That is nothing but man’s invention.

John 10:7...Jesus therefore said to them again, "Most certainly, I tell you, I am the sheep's door.
John 10:9...I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out, and will find pasture.

Luke 13:24...Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.  25Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, Sir, open the door for us. But He will answer, I don't know you or where you come from.

No one is saying they have never sinned.  A Christian is forgiven of all the sins he or she committed before becoming a temple of God/Christian. Only after one becomes a temple of God can a person live without sinning.

All my life I knew about God and His Word. However, all the while never knowing Him. Crazy how that can be so.

The very moment I surrendered my life to His will, choosing to trust in Him by taking Him at his Word, God began to make Himself known to me. Sometimes through thoughts, sometimes through images in my mind. Other times through dreams. But most of the time though His people. The Holy Spirit communicates to us in all these ways and more.

It is by the Spirit of God that man has communion w/the Lord. It is the Holy Spirit who gives us wisdom of the things of God and the knowledge and understanding of who God is. It is by the Spirit that revelation comes.

If you think about it, when any of us came to know Christ and receive Him as Savior, it was the Holy Spirit who we met and encountered first. It is He who draws us to seek a Savior and leads us in our desire to fully know God.

If Jesus is your God who and how were you taught?


Paul told us that only God could teach one to know God, has God taught you, how did he teach you?

Of everything, even the depths of God.  After all, the depths of a man can only be known by his own spirit, not by any other man, and in the same way the depths of God can only be known by the Spirit of God.

JohnDB, yes the bible is the written Word of God, but one can’t come to know God by reading. 

The only way one can come to know God is to have God teach him or her.  Only God knows what one understands.  God knows what a word means to him or her. 

The bible can and is used to learn about God, and Jesus/Holy Spirit can use the bible to bring one to know God.

How many different Christian denominations are there?  Many different ones right?  All use the same bible, and yet very little agreement on what the words are saying.  If the bible were the way to come to know God then people would all have the same understanding. 

Paul told us the only way to come to know God was to have God bring one.

The only way one can come to know God is to have God teach him or her.  Only God knows what one understands.  God knows what a word means to him or her. 

How can what you say be true when All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

You continue to take and use scripture out of context and try to lead others away from the word.  Just so sad, Giver.

MeMyself,When someone reads about another person, all that person is to the reader is someone they know about.  The person writing about another person is relating what he or she knows about him or her.

Even if God has taught a person writing about Jesus, one still only gets that other person’s understanding. 

Reading the bible, even though it is the inspired written Word of God, it is still written in words, and words do not have the same meaning to everyone.

I quoted, (1 Corinthians 2:10-16) in my last post, explaining where Paul tell that one can only know God through the spirit of God.  Yet how many understand what Paul said?

John tells us that if one sins he or she has never seen nor knows God.  Most people say they still sin.  So then it must be that very few know God.

You see all I am saying is written in the Bible, yet people only believe what they can understand, or someone else’s understanding. 

The only way to know God is to have God reveal himself to him or her.
