I'm wondering how God's 10 commandments, fits in either calvanism or Arminianism ?

I mean, if Jesus Christ told us Christians to keep God's commandments, as HE did.....where does that fit into either category ?

Christians are not justified by the law, but by faith. (Rom 3:28, Gal 2:16, Gal 3:11, Gal 3:24, Gal 5:4)

OK....I agree.

Faith is based on what the Bible says......
Romans 10:17   So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

And so, the Bible says:
Jesus Christ's own words.....John  15:10   If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

So, we are back to square one.

If Jesus is square one, then I suggest you stay there.

Well, you make a good point there.

After all, Jesus Christ knows more about the Plan of Salvation more then any human being, will ever know !

My friend, Jesus is the plan of salvation.
There is an old saying: "God is in the details".

There is basicly 2 parts of the Plan of Salvation.

#1.) There is the part which most people know.....and that is Christ's Death, Burial, and Resurrection.
To pay the penalty for our sins.

#2.)
To live a sinless life, patterned after the life Jesus Christ life, by setting an example for Christians to follow.
1 Peter  2:21   For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

2:22   Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

And, Jesus has promised us help, to do just that.

To live a sinless life,

What if we fall short of being completely sinless?

There you go again, pulling verses out of context. There is no two fold plan of salvation, there is one plan of salvation and his name is Jesus (Act 4:12). We do not add to this salvation, neither do we take away from it (Eph 2:8-9).

But if you believe that 1 Peter 2:21 means we are to follow Jesus example of being sinless, first I would like to remind you once you sin you are no longer sinless. And if you notice verse 24 also describes how he bare our sins in his body, so its obvious that not everything in this context is something that Christians are called to emulate.

Christianity, is a learning process.
It may take people time to get their lives right...to unlearn bad habits.

We can fall, BUT we don't give up and quit !
We ask for forgiveness, and try to rely upon Jesus Christ more than ourselves to overcome sins.

Jesus Christ has made the promise:

2 Corinthians  10:3   For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
10:4   (For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

  10:5  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

It is then up to us to either believe it, or reject it.

2 Corinthians 3

Quote
1Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, like some people, letters of recommendation to you or from you? 2You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody. 3You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

4Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God. 5Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. 6He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
The Glory of the New Covenant
7Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, fading though it was, 8will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? 9If the ministry that condemns men is glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! 10For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. 11And if what was fading away came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!

12Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. 13We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at it while the radiance was fading away. 14But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. 15Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. 16But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect[a] the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

this certainly needs some attention.

The phrase: 7Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, should be explained as to prevent any misunderstanding.

It is ONLY disobedience that brings death to God's Laws, written on stone.

God has NEVER punished anyone, for obeying the 10 commandments.

They fit between Exodus 19 & 21.
Or Deuteronomy 4 & 6.

Jesus explained the Law.

1. Love the LORD your God.

2. Love your neighbor as yourself.

3. A new commandment I give you, Love others believers as I loved you. Sacrificial Love.

If you keep these commandments you will never break any commandment.

2. Love your neighbor as yourself.
What 6 Commandments details how this is done ?

3. A new commandment I give you, Love others believers as I loved you. Sacrificial Love.
How is this new....as it was merely repeated from the Old testament Scriptures ?
