Baptist History Thread

Hi. Not sure if this is the right section to post this.  In the thread (You must have twenty posts prior to posting a link per Rule 3.3) there is a question on where the Baptist actually came from. I'd like to take it deeper than it has been. Only problem is that it seems like maybe 4 out of 5 topics where this history is brought out winds up in some kind of argument that breaks out with some of the participants. It can even get hotter than some of the eternal security vs. salvation lost threads. Guess I'm looking for some guidance and permission here.

Is this a private area I've started this thread in?

OK Larry. But that link was just to a thread were the discussion in question was on the board. Did you get a look at it?

No I didn't Parson, and if you're a parson, shouldn't you be wearing a gold Pope's hat, red slippers, and a night gown or something impressive? You've got to show traditional creditability don't you?

Larry? I hope you don't think I'm a troll or something... Parson is the term used years ago in the south east US for a Baptist preacher. Ever read the comic Snuffy Smith? If you have the time, do a search for "The Parsons Corner Internet Ministries" on Google and let me know what you find.

Anyway, I think you answered my question about the baptist history thingey. I'll wait until I've had a chance to get to know the folks here before I jump into that subject Larry. I did see the fishing thread. Interesting.
