Have a passage of scripture on your mind? Share it with us. In this way we are keeping the Word of God before our eyes and keeping our minds on things that are pure and holy as Philippians 4:8 tells us.

Simply title the thread after the passage you are sharing and use the spell checker before posting.

  Preach it!

Indeed we all could stand a good dose of the spell checker all over these forums, especially given the number of typos and stutter-fingers we all have.

Matt 10:34-42

34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

Acts 13:38-41

38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:

39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

40 Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;

41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.

Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you.  Bless those who curse you.  Pray for those who mistreat you.

Ms faithlady59:

That's a great verse! Philippians 4.8 is similar and also great; if we concentrate on what is wholesome and profitable.

Take care.

John 3.16 contains great theology, without doubt.

Read God's Word prayerfully every day; it's a joy and privilege.

If folks feel they must have TATTOOS, have you considered having faith related designs tattooed?

(And try vacationing in the South: plenty of sun, and some great churches down there!)

use the spell checker before posting.

  Preach it!
Spell check will leave words that are spelled right but are not the word we meant to write  Smile

For example, I think I have read where someone had "mange" instead of "manage". One could write he would like "mange" with a friend of his Smile

But the classic was a Bible quote of how Elisha asked Elijah to permit him to go to "kill" his mother and father before followed Elijah. This captured my attention. I decided I might check the Bible verse of my own translation to see if mine might be different Smile > yes, a slight bit different > in 1 Kings 19:20 > "Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you."

The lady who posted it was logged out; so I got the head person and he edited it, right away. So . . . I may use spell check to make sure I don't miss anything, but I also may proofread more than once, especially Bible verses.

Isaiah 31:1

31:1 Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they don't look to the Holy One of Israel, and they don't seek Yahweh!

This may have other meanings, but it reminds me not to go back to my past (enslaved into bondage/not free), just because things don't seem to be going right! God's chosen people were slaves in Egypt, and God delivered them, and set them free from the bondage that man forced onto them. It was hard for me to be what I thought others wanted me to be, but God delivered me, and now I can be REAL and TRUE in the presence of my God who heals me and molds me into what HE wants me to be. Sometimes it looks like Egypt has a lot to offer, but I know Whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able....
