"Hypercalvinism, an exaggerated or imbalanced type of Reformed theology...minimizing the moral & spiritual responsibility of sinners. It puts excessive emphasis on acts belonging to God's...It emphasizes irresistible grace to such an extent that there appears to be no real need to evangelize...so stresses the sovereignty of God by over-emphasizing the secret over the revealed will of God & eternity over time, that it minimizes the responsibility of sinners...thus it undermines the universal duty of sinners to believe savingly in the Lord Jesus Christ."

We must be careful to maintain the Holy-Spirit's inspired balance between divine sovereignty and human responsibility. That's one of the advantages of passage-by-passage expository teaching: It prevents hobbyhorses, and preserves balance.

That one gets a hearty  Amen!

One cannot deny EITHER the sovereignty of God, or the responsibility of man.

This is a good quote from the link:

"Arminians need more doctrine, and Calvinists need more practice."
