The Words 'By Faith Alone' are used exactly One time in the Bible.... and it is when it is Condemned.

There was no written book canonized for 400 years after the death of Christ.
How did Christians worship then?
By Tradition, that is how.  As directed by Christ, Apostles and the Saints

Mike> dear sir they did have the gospels and the epistles. other wise there would not have been canons at all. After the apostles went home to be with the Lord the bishops must have had them. How is they could hold on to the the truth. The responsibility  was that they stay true to the traditions the apostles both taught and wrote about. The apostles were the ones who were most closely associated with Christ and walked in the spirit and also inspired of Him. but true faith in Christ is not hard to understand because one must believe by faith the message of Christ.   Even a child and can understand the simplicity of salvation. Love is the greatest  commandment.  In the end it will be the writen scriptures that will be either our salvation or it will be an indictment. Remember Jesus resisted Satan in the temptation saying it is written. How did the Jews hold on to the laws of most for over 2500 years. the words  were writen and so Jesus resisted Satan because they were written.

The word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing usunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and the marrow, and is a discerner of the though and intents of the heart.

God bless

Wrong
The Apostles fled for their Lives, from the Jews, who sought to
Kill them.  Like St Stephen for example, Murdered by the JEWs. And Sainted.

They settled in various lands throughout the Middle East and extablished similar RITES, or acts of Worship, in these lands.

Scrolls were later unearthed, found, assembled and then forged into what we know as The Bible, this in about 350AD

This time, is longer than the USA has even been established.  350years. AD

"I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I have delivered them to you"
 (1 Cor. 11:2).

The Apostle Paul requires the aid of Tradition (2 Thess. 2:15).
'So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us.'
Apostle here refers to the scriptures which Timothy was taught in his infancy.

For they preach, but do not practice"
-Christ (Matt. 23:2–3).

Oral teaching was accepted by Christians, just as they accepted the written teaching that came to them later.
Jesus told his disciples:
"He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you rejects me" (Luke 10:16).
The Church, in the persons of the apostles, was given the authority to teach by Christ; the Church would be his representative. He commissioned them, saying, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations" (Matt. 28:19).

"’But the word of the Lord abides for ever.’ That word is the good news which was preached to you"
(1 Pet. 1:25).
This was taught hundreds of years Before the Bible was ever written!

If this is true then they must have been shocked at how far they drifted off course. to late to repent and lose face before the people. Just a thought
