When a thread is moved to "the round table" for the Mods to discuss is there any follow-up and notification to the poster?

Depends on the moderator - a few of us try to touch base with folks, but there's not a policy that I'm aware of.

Thanks OldDad. One more question, if a thread is moved to the round table and no notification is given does that mean that the topic is taboo?

It's not always the topic, sometimes the discussion simply gets out of hand, flames and other ugly stuff.

Different mods have different sensibilities, that's why we ask others to take a look.

I would tell you that certain theological topics are raising some concern - and there is quite a bit of discussion about certain topics being in line with the theological position of the forum as described in the rules.

I believe it was because of the content and it was perceived as a way to push universalism.

Exactly, the heresy of universalism needs to be shut down and shut out on this forum.

Well I know where this forum stands so I won't post anything that supports UR.

Thanks for the info, it sheds some light on some other areas and topics that are permitted.

I don't believe in universalism but aren't forums like this supposed to be places to discuss stupid (or unpopular or unscriptural) ideas? Why shut out the universalists and not the JW, 7th Day Adventists and Mormons?

I have no problem shutting all of those out.

I could also shut out the Catholics but if we start down that road before you know it we could start acting like hard core CoCers and shut out the Methodists, Baptists, Presbys, Lutherans, UCC, Mennonites, Brethren, Orthodox........

Many things are allowed here.  If the particular doctrine perverts the divinity of Christ and the gospel (let's not get into man's response), then I don't believe it should be here.  A line has to be drawn somewhere.

And if we get rid of the Baptists or their children with Presbyeterians (CofC and Bible Church), who would be left?

So how does UR pervert the gospel or divinity of Christ?
