When a thread is moved to "the round table" for the Mods to discuss is there any follow-up and notification to the poster?

It's not always the topic, sometimes the discussion simply gets out of hand, flames and other ugly stuff. 

Different mods have different sensibilities, that's why we ask others to take a look.

I would tell you that certain theological topics are raising some concern - and there is quite a bit of discussion about certain topics being in line with the theological position of the forum as described in the rules.

I don't believe in universalism but aren't forums like this supposed to be places to discuss stupid (or unpopular or unscriptural) ideas? Why shut out the universalists and not the JW, 7th Day Adventists and Mormons?

Many things are allowed here.  If the particular doctrine perverts the divinity of Christ and the gospel (let's not get into man's response), then I don't believe it should be here.  A line has to be drawn somewhere.

And if we get rid of the Baptists or their children with Presbyeterians (CofC and Bible Church), who would be left?
