Hi everyone This part of the forum is for members to get to know the moderators who give of their time and energy to help coordinate this site. This introductory thread is to let you know about how this forum will operate:

- Threads can be started by any member, as long as they are for the purpose of friendly chat between moderators and members. If you have a question about Grace-Centered forum operations and use, there are other forums within the Forum Issues and Help category where they belong. A moderator will move threads of this nature to a more applicable forum.

- Please respect any requests made by a member who creates a thread - if they ask for no debate-style posts, then please show your acknowledgement of this by not doing so. Moderators reserve the right to remove any posts that are not considerate of the thread starter's requests.

- Above all, this forum is to show everyone, both moderators and members alike, that we ought to get to know each other on more than just a basic level in order to appreciate each other. Too often have we seen instances of heated discussion that has served no positive purpose and merely divided people over trivial issues. The Lord calls us to love each other as ourselves, and it's not a one way street. It's a reciprocal process that if done in an appropriate manner, will bear much fruit. So lay down your verbal arms and appreciate each other.

I really enjoy being a part of the forum. so many different points of view.
I was wondering if it would be possible to mention my web site on the forum? OldDAd has already mentioned it once, I dont know how he knew about it. The URL is www.theapostlesdoctrine.com I offer a book on the site about the historical gospel of Jesus Christ. I am not really interested in selling books as I am in teaching the gospel. I am going to make another
original post on "Countrfeit Christianity" its an article that I have on the web site. I would just like to tell them that the whole article can be seen on the web site. What do you think? I will accept what ever you say.

BearTheCross and I have just left a forum that was at one time very friendly and Christian motivated. Until recently it seems to have turned into a battle royal in Hell and practically not one member lef except the 2 administrators.

I hope and pray that this forum will be ideal in finding ways to express views and get opinions without always someone worrying about correcting all the time.

Thanks again and I hope to get to know you personally.

Janine,

I would like to do a new post around financial struggles between married couples ( I have been counseling families financially for years) but would like to do it in the family/marriage relationship area instead of in the finance area. It seems like the finance area is mostly around business and marketing etc. Could I start a new sub category under family etc.?

There are three sections (for want of a better word) that appear to be missing from my forum index. They are Bible Verses, Apologetics , and Theology. I don`t know if you ,the Moderators, removed them. Or if some ignorance on my part keeps them from me. I would appreciate it very much if you will help me. They should be there. Do you see a "Christian Interests" link on your main page? You might have inadvertantly collapsed that section. But, if you click on that section (if it is collapsed), then it should expand for you to see the forums within that section.

In the past two weeks, a "barred from site" notice has occurred when I attempt to get into forum. Last week it was some 7 or 8 days before I was able to get in. March 3ed I was again refused entry.

I attempted to delete the (cookies) but had no success. If this is an error can it be adjusted? If not why am I being barred?

As I have been feeling so similarly. Being "corrected" has been a consistent thing here....even if its just a matter of wording....as tho some people are not really into learning more -- just arguing more.

I WISH that one of the big things that Christians would be taught...especially when in a forum such as this....is to stop and consider a new slant on scripture before immediately rejecting it and letting the poster know it!! There is a depth to Christianity....which makes it so unique among all the religions. The bible, as well, is a book of depth too....it is not a novel that can be understood even if read 100 times. >>>>> Therefore we will always be learning and growing...if indeed we are open to it.

When I stop myself from hearing new prospective-insights into scripture....then I stop my own growth. God is as endless as the Universe...and therefore I can never find the end of Him. However, when a person is challenged by what someone says or it is unfamiliar and then they immediately reject it ~ then they are saying they know enough about God and have essentially made Him smaller.

Obviously, for instance, if I would say to go and worship rocks because Jesus is our Rock....then this is obviously outside of Orthodox Christianity....way outside. Therefore I would hope to be questioned....but Christians need to be encouraged to consider more and then inquire more before they reject. I have gotten almost no clarification questions to see what I was really saying, so I would be better understood...and therefore possibly spur further discussion and understanding.

Hey there!

Manna is a point system that is used between members of the forum. When ever you post something that someone else really enjoys they will award you a manna point. You can also do this for other member's posts that you happen to enjoy.

The point system is not a contest or anything that produces tangible awards. In essence it is equivalent to a high five of shouting "Amen" when you here a good Word.

It is a means for different members to express their appreciation for the posts of others.
