Kindle Books are the way to go at least in my book
« on: Sun Jan 06, 2013 - 14:06:05 »
I really like the Kindle platform and think it is the wave of the future when it comes to books.
Now I don't think it will be the end of print but it is going to take an ever increasing share of the market.
They are less expensive. They are easy to shop for and download. An ereader can store a huge number of books.
How do you feel about ereaders and ebooks?

I am a HUGE Kindle fan. I got one last year for my birthday and just love access to so many free or almost free books!
I'm a Librarian and will always love my paper books, but when it comes to easy accessibility you can't beat the Kindle.

Peace,

I'm usually a fairly traditional person, but eBooks are outselling regular books.

This is quickly becoming the industry standard.  Not necessarily the kindle platform, but ereaders and ebooks.

As a publisher, most of our sales are on the Kindle and Nook.

I agree.  I just need to get one.  I know some people who have it.  It's awesome.

I consider Kindles and e-readers an abomination to the literary world. Nothing beats a nice, haphazardly stacked tower of books by my bedside.

I got the Knook from Barnes & Noble for Christmas. Depending upon the book or App you purchase, this device makes reading the Bible a lot easier on the eyes in any lighted room. The software also allows you to highlight scripture, add your own notes, and bookmark your pages. It's hard to go back to paper once you try this e-reader.

I LOVE books. There is no way that I ever want a kindle.

Please do not misunderstand. I love the printed word, even the aroma from the pages. I just think having another tool which perhaps can get our youth more interested in reading (especially the Holy Bible) is a blessing.

I agree. Ebooks are the future.  I've sold a lot of copies of my book on e-format, but paperback sales are almost nonexistent.  I think it's good though.  It makes information, and learning more affordable and easily to access.

I used BookBaby.com to publish my Passover Seder Haggadah (Messianic) on a variety of platforms: iTunes (iPad, iPhone), Nook, Kobo, Kindle, etc.
