Lamplighter Books

I would like to recommend Lamplighter Books and their website. They also have radio drama's, The Lamplighter Theater, which can be ordered on CD. There are also many radio stations across the US and few in the UK that broadcast their weekly radio dramas. The radio dramas are very well crafted. The books and radio dramas are generally by 19'th century authors, many of whom were very popular then but have been forgotten over time. The novels, novellas and radio dramas illustrate Christian principles and values and are appropriate for all ages. Included is Maria Cummins' The Lamplighter, which in its day sold more copies than Nathaniel Hawthorne's books but who is largely forgotten today, The Wide Wide World by Susan Warner, The Foresters Daughter by Urban Olivier and Ishmael by E.D.E.N. Southworth. If you like Victorian literature or simply a good read which embodies Christian values I highly recommend Lamplighter Books. Literature has drifted toward atheistic existentialism and other systems of thought and these earlier authors popular in their day have been largely forgotten and bypassed by the academic establishment.
