I highly recommend the Bible, it has great re-readability.
Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.
For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.  — Psalm 128:1-3

I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. — Psalm 138:2

Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. — Colossians 4:6

Ms Christiana:

Spurgeon is v. good, yes. A lot of his material is also Online.
John 3.16 contains great theology, without doubt.

Read God's Word prayerfully every day; it's a joy and privilege.

My mom and I abosultely love the Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers. There's three books in the series:  Voice in the Wind (Book 1), An Echo in the Darkness (Book 2), and As Sure as the Dawn (Book 3). We haven't read the third book yet, but we loved and thoroughly enjoyed the first two books. I highly recommend them.

Yay someone else has read these books :)  ::priest::
I absolutley love them :) Francine is an awesome author :)
I have the third book and it is just as good if not better than the last two, I can remember how the guys name is spelt, but the third book has to do with the german roman warrior guy...good read,
my aunty gave the set to my sister and i

This is kind of an old recommendation but I just love the Novels of The Present Darkness by Frank E. Peretti
If you want to get a good idea what happens behind the curtain so to speak when you pray, this novel will enlighten you.

We were just talking about this book Sunday morning.  Our elders were very high on it.  It may be next on my list.  They mentioned another one of Peretti's books as well.

Kind of late to post this, hehe, but I'm glad to hear someone enjoys those books as well! I'm really curious to know the guy's story, haha. I mean, you read so much about Hadessa, Marcus, Phoebe, and Julia that you forget about the warrior guy! But I'm glad to hear that the third book is just as good! I know I cried in the first two. :] Francine Rivers is a wonderful author and highly recommended for any Christian reader!

Greetings,

I know of a good book that I've personally read several times, it's very good for anyone serious about living the Christian life. Fortunately, the book is currently being given away for free. You may want to check it out:

Anything by T. Austin Sparks. There is a website that carries many of his books and teachings and also a ministry that distributes them in hard copy for free also.

I highly recommend "God's Spiritual House", "The Stewardship Of The Mystery part 1&2" and "The Gospel According To Paul" for starters.

Very true! I cried when I read the first two books in Mark of the Lion series. They were so moving!

Another Christian author I love is Janette Oake (I think that's how you spell her name). She writes historical Christian fiction, but my mom and I love her books as well. Beverly Lewis is also good if you're interested in the Amish lifestyle.
