Let's say you go to a church that preaches against gambling but you went out to a Casino anyhow and won a large amount of money.  Would you be expected to pay tithes on it since the minister is against gambling and you were to tell him before paying it where the money came from?

if you normally pay  tithes on ALL of your income no matter what it is then yes I think you should. It is income however you got it. You dont have to tell anyone where it came from, just put it in the collection, who will know?
If you go to a church that teaches it is wrong and you dont agree then why go there?
You could always give it away to another good cause, or charity, or to someone who needs help right now.It doesnt have to go to your church.

Tithes do not have to go to the local congregation.  I would encourage you to pray over the matter and follow the Holy Spirit's guidance.

I feel that you need to pray about what to do with it.  I think if you are asking about it then you must be having a feeling that you should be doig something with it.  It is my experience is that if you have to ask about it then you probably are already getting your answer from the Holy Spirit.  All you can do is pray about it.  A tithe not necessarily have to be given to your church and know one should be asking where it comes from.  That issue is between you and God.

No.. tithes were supposed to go to the tribe of Levi and consisted of items that were gained from the land that God gave the Israelites.. so a tithe could be produce, crops, cattle or money if it was a direct result of the land.

In the new testament, tithing is not part of the New Covenant.. and since we do not live on land that was promised us from God a tithe just doesn't make sense.

In the new testament we are to be cheerful givers, giving to causes that the Holy Spirit leads us to give to.. it could be your local church, an aid group or mission board, etc.

I personally, am opposed to giving to any church that has a paid pastor and a building.. but that's just how the Holy Spirit leads me.  I would fully support missionaries or people who's job is solely to spread the gospel though.. on a temporary basis or ongoing basis as God leads me.

This is one of the coolest thing about the New Covenant.. individuals have the power to live as the spirit leads and we are not bound to submit to leadership except in matters of doctrine.

Yes, I would pay my tithe to God - God's work - to my favorite charity.
My life is uneffected by pastors.

If one isn't a member of a church there is no need to give to a church.  However one still is expected to give.
Expected by whom?  Expected by GOD.  There are many unfortunate individuals that are in greater need than the churches.
I've never been forunate enough to win a fortune.  But what I do get from any source a portune goes to whom ever the
   HOLY SPIRIT directs.
