When threads are locked, do moderators get to keep going on them?  If so, why?

Moderators can go on locked threads.  Sometimes we aren't even aware they are locked, as the lock doesn't prevent us from posting.  Why?  Because we are able to, and like I said, if we started posting on the topic without reading it was locked, the lock doesn't prevent us.

If one moderator locks it, another can unlock it.

Part of this is my fault.

I started a thread up in the chat with the moderators forum about how there were so many theological threads in the General forum it was hard to have any normal Chit Chat in there and was wondering if they shouldn't be moved to the theological forum...we have forums for politics and the like that don't get diiscussed in General...why was theology allowed and the other subjects not. And besides....there was no chit chat capabilities in the general forum any longer for all of the theological debates and the preaching. I like preaching and theological debates as much as the next one of us....but dang....sometimes I wanna talk about other things. I think there was even a thread to discuss being overly religious there too...

But then

Old Dad said that this was the tough breaks as anything goes in there.
Tennman disagreed and then moved a bunch of threads.
Gary then moved one of mine to jokes and games forum...(and it really did belong there)
Old Dad came back and really disagreed with Tennman's assesment and agreement with me

and so..I think that Tennman had an ooopsie in this forum with that one thread in the meantime.

and now...we are kinda watching and waiting for the battle of the moderators to break out.
