I'm the original poster, and I want to thank you for your post. To anyone reading or replying after me, I want to say that I began praying for whomever would post a reply that this would be a word I could act on.
Immediately after submitting my question to this forum, I realized that I have really had an all-or-nothing approach to the problem of attending inconvenient church functions. On a case by case basis, I've attended only 1 men's prayer group since 2004.
Last night, after posting, I realized that if I had only gone to one meeting per month, I would have attended the prayer meeting 156 times since 2004. That's twelve times per year, over thirteen years.
I'd definitely feel A LOT, A LOT, more connected to the church.
Pkbrother, you've given me a perfect conviction on which to base my attendance: "My house is a house of prayer."
Guys, Gracecentered.com just provided me a blessing with a solid answer to a real question. Thanks to Pkbrother and anyone else who reads, considers or replies to this, or any other post. You just hit a home run.
Thanks - again.
