Convictions To Join 6am Prayer Group
« on: Tue Apr 18, 2017 - 22:36:29 »
I joined GraceCentered and have strategically asked questions that are meaningful to me.  My church has had a 6am men's prayer group that, since 2004, I have only visited once.

This question will sound half-witted, so I need to explain that I just haven't had the deep convictions that would get me out of bed for a meeting that early in the morning.  Plus, my workday doesn't start until afternoon -- so, I'm not normally up until after 10am.

What convictions would you say that I MUST HAVE in order to begin regularly attending a prayer meeting.  Please dig deep, and really encourage me to think of things that you think might drive you to join a meeting that inconvenient.  And, please pray for me as you reply.

I promise to read the replies that get posted here.  And, ahead of time, thank you.  I've had many great replies on past inquiries.  Thank you.

My house is a house of prayer says the Lord

Bro I would encourage you to go to prayer......
Prayer is lacking in our churches....as my church no longer has a mans praye rgroup....
But they do have another missions prayer group that starts at 9am
I cant make it untill summer

I hafta go across toen to anothwr mens prayer group that meets at 6am 1 time a week
I make it 1-2 times a month  ....but.   i should make it every week

Set a goal and go 1 time a week or 1 -2 times a month ...stick to it and commit it to God
Our brothers in china the middle east and N korea need our prayers.....

No amount of preaching worship or bible study will dliver our brothers ......only prayer
Grace qnd peace on this

I'm the original poster, and I want to thank you for your post.  To anyone reading or replying after me, I want to say that I began praying for whomever would post a reply that this would be a word I could act on.

Immediately after submitting my question to this forum, I realized that I have really had an all-or-nothing approach to the problem of attending inconvenient church functions.  On a case by case basis, I've attended only 1 men's prayer group since 2004.

Last night, after posting, I realized that if I had only gone to one meeting per month, I would have attended the prayer meeting 156 times since 2004.  That's twelve times per year, over thirteen years.

I'd definitely feel A LOT, A LOT, more connected to the church.

Pkbrother, you've given me a perfect conviction on which to base my attendance: "My house is a house of prayer."

Guys, Gracecentered.com just provided me a blessing with a solid answer to a real question.  Thanks to Pkbrother and anyone else who reads, considers or replies to this, or any other post.  You just hit a home run.

Thanks - again.
