Question about girls
« on: Sat Feb 06, 2016 - 22:52:36 »
Hi
I'm a 16 year old Junior at an all-male high school. When the time comes, I'd like to practice Biblical Courtship. I had a general question about girls today. I have very traditional views on gender roles. I strongly believe that if a man makes enough money, the place of a married woman is in the home. I'd want a girl that agrees with me on gender roles, is Godly, kind, caring, and sweet. I also believe that girls should dress very modestly( only very long dresses) I will NOT compromise  on these things. Please don't answer if that's what you want to suggest.  Where could I find a girl like this today? Do Christian  girls  like this still exist today( or have they all become Feminists)

Might be a suprise but despite Paul's gospel, don't be so suprised that it will be the girl that picks you.

I find it hard that this post is from a sixteen year old child. Are you not sure that you are here just testing Christians convictions? I have yet to see many sixteen year old boys who wear long pants only, and not short. Why would anyone expect young ladies to do something they themselves do not do? Does your mother wear "long dresses"? If not, then why would you expect a young lady to do the same? The teaching of the NT is modesty~there's not a certain dress codes that all must follow, but all should and must be modest. I have news for you, if this is a true post from a young man....you will change some, or, your wife will not lovingly submit. Men who refuse to give their wives freedom in dressing, spending money, making some decisions cannot expect a wife to give him honour as her head. A godly woman may very well do it, but in her heart she would hate him for his overbearing and unmerciful headship. Marriage is a fifty year commitment, and no father would allow his daughter to married a ruthless, unmerciful man that will got give his wife some liberty without him dictating her every move.

We cannot demand these things from our wives, we do these things to them, and they likewise will do the same to us~it's a two way street. We nurture them out of them, not demand, or just expect them because we are men and they are women!

Some Pentecostal Holiness churches still practice some of these beliefs.

Yes, Christian girls still exist today like this.

Where to finds these type of girls?
- group Bible study
- church (get involved in ministry)
- Christian youth adult conferences

Most importantly, keep praying and asking God to guide you to your ideal Christian girl.

There is no such thing as "biblical courtship." For most of the time the bible was written, marriages were arranged by the parents when the couple were less than 10 years old.  In NT times, you would have already been married a couple of years.

Pretty long list there, bro.

Yes, they exist.  As Jason said, many pentecostal holiness and very traditional SDA congregations still adhere to these standards.

What is your congregational adherence? Is this what your congregation teaches/practices?

I am not going to ask you to compromise your standards.  But I will ask you this:  have you went thru the process of determining the biblical support for all of this?

At your age, I was in a congregation that was very down on alcohol.  Half of the sermons were on the evils of mouth wash and baking flavors that had alcohol in them. So I sat down with a good christian friend and went thru the WHOLE BIBLE looking for support for that stance.  (his church did not ascribe to it) That way I had to make up my own mind as to what God wanted.

Burqas are quite modest.  You can find women wearing those all over the place these days.

If I was looking for a woman, then a Muslim woman would be the last place I would consider...that is, if she was a full pledged Muslim.  I would not support my grandaughters marrying a man that has any connections to the Muslim religion, or community whatsoever. It is the religion of Satan, as much as any upon the face of this earth.
