Questions for other husbands
« on: Tue Aug 02, 2016 - 19:37:59 »
Do you have a bible study/devotion time with your wife?

How often?

Do you use a devotional, or just a bible?

Do you teach/lead, or is it more of a mutual discussion?

My wife and I have just committed to doing this regularly.  Right now we are doing Hebrews Monday through Saturday, then on Sunday we discuss the sermon passage.  We try to do it every evening, but it doesn't happen every night.

No Bible-study with the wife.  I've tried but she's always too distracted.

Yes, when the children were growing up~first with them, then one on one with my wife.

How often?
Every day, never missed, that I can remember~but could have, if so, very seldom ever.

Just reading the scriptures and would add comments, especially when she ask something~but mainly reading the scriptures over and over again for many years. We always started and ended with prayer.

Strictly I did both. My wife prefer that~besides, it's the man responsibility to be the spiritual leader of his wife and children. Genesis 18:19!

Good for you my brother~may God bless you in doing so.

It should not be taken lightly, nor allow anything to hinder you in doing this most important duty as a husband, and father. I asked a young man once if he was having prayer and reading with his wife every night, or any~he said not any, I said, do you also forget having sex, and he said NEVER. I said, which one is the most important? BOTH are wonderful and good for all men!

I wish I could say yes. but my wife and I are always distracted by other things going on, @RB great suggestions, but for those of us married men that do, what is your secret? I could use a few hints.
