Barry,
I wouldn't have pegged you as a P.O.D. fan.  I'm still having a little trouble picturing you rocking out to their stuff.  You are right though.  It's a great CD.

Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail.  But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.
Ac 5:38-39

I really love POD's music. Their first CD wasn't the greatest, but the last few have been great.

You've got to understand that I used to be a huge metal fan (not hair metal, but the real stuff) and love to have a Christian alternative. Not that POD is strictly metal, but I do love it.

Most Excellent!

Will surprises never end!
He was despised and forsaken of men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; like one from whom men hide their face; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.  Surely our griefs He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried; yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.  But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed.

I thought ...Southtown and Satellite were great, but was a little disappointed in their last, the self-titled Payable On Death.

However, I'm very pleased thus far with Testify, although I've only listened to it a few times so far.

I love P.O.D.  Saw them at Ozzfest in 2002.  They were wonderful!  Several people came to Christ as a result of their performance there.  At Ozzfest...of all places!!!

As a metal fan....I was OVERJOYED to have an openly Christian band at Ozzfest.  God can work anywhere!  Now if someone would just bring around David Draiman of Disturbed.....and then introduce him to me.....  ::clappingoverhead:: ::blushing::

Memmy,

Here’s what’s awesome about that.  Three of the people who accepted Christ that day attend my church.  Now…these are some frightening looking dudes.  It’s not just that they’re heavily pierced and tattooed, but they are big, bald, and VERY intimidating looking.  They look like you wouldn’t want to run into them in a dark alley.  Yet, I have never met a group of men more sold out to God.  And so amazingly tender hearted!

When they first joined the church, there were a few people who felt that they should remove their piercing, become less intimidating looking, dress a certain way (someone actually suggested Dockers and Loafers!!!), and generally become the physical ideal of what most people consider a good WASP-ish Christian.

But here’s the really cool part.  BECAUSE of their history and BECAUSE of they way they look, they have been able to reach people and go places that the majority of us would have a difficult time with.  SO MANY people have come to know Christ because of their willingness to let God use them just as they are.  Now…there is rather fast-growing group of “alternative type
