Where can I find any verse or anything saying three old rusty nails were used when Jesus was nailed on the cross. A Paster asked how do we know that "three rusty nails where used to nail Jesus up on the cross". She says it doesn't tell us that anywhere in the Bible about "three rusty nails being used". Please help.

Historians say that the common method of crucifixon was that each wrist would be nailed to the cross.  One foot would be place on top of the other and one nail driven through them both.  Hence - three nails.  This made it harder for the victim to straighten up to breathe more easily, and caused greater pain.

I don't know about the nails being rusty, but I can easily imagine that those who murdered Christ might not take the time to find shiny new nails for the job.

The song is beautiful.  I'm trying to learn the ppicking part on the guitar, and hope to perform it someday.
