woohoo look at me, I am the thread queen today. lol

I was wondering as a single christian how do Christian singles that get into a relationship with another christian deal with the obvious human desire to be sexual with one another? How do you abstain, and are there even people that are out there these days that are willing to wait till marriage? I know its a hard thing to do, but how do two christian couples handle this???

I didn't have sex until I got married at age 22, and I never had sex with anyone other than my wife. I've been divorced for many years and have never had sex as a single. Of course, now I couldn't have sex even if I wanted to, and my desire to please the Lord far outweighs any other desires. Praying

I figure you have to set your boundaries a long time before you find yourself alone behind the counsellors' cabin at Camp BunchaChristiansHere.

Not that the subject shouldn't be discussed, studied about in Scripture and good guidebooks, etc.  Just no Braille.   Saint

You just make a decision and stick to it.  That's what I've done anyway.

He was despised and forsaken of men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; like one from whom men hide their face; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.  Surely our griefs He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried; yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.  But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed.

Avoid dating altogether. Thats how I get by anyway. Its easier if no-one wants to date you. Crying and sad.

It's even more than just a decision. It's obedience.
God, Christian, Single, no sex. That's just the way it is.

That is a tough one. I have had over 4 boyfriends in the past and never even once had a sexual relationship with them, since the bible strictly prohibits sex outside of marriage. So I only had one other alternative, and lets just say that it is too embarrasing to speak about.

Hah.  There's plenty of shame to go around over real true sinfulness where I really truly let God down.  I don't think That Mysterious Topic (*ahem*) is one we need to be ashamed about, either.

Of course it depends upon why we do it.  Sort of.  Like, is it a thing we resort to because we want to help ourselves avoid sin?  Or is it something we do spitefully that allows us to defraud a mate who needs our attention?  All sorts of things can become sinful... but for the average single, I just don't see it as a sin problem.

I know, I know.

And I am having way too much fun being excessively polite about not saying "masturbation".

So there.

The only thing I keep thinking of when questions like this come up is that the lines have to be discussed and drawn ahead of time.
