Yes, some of you are thinking it's out of character for me to post something about favorite love songs but, yes I do have a softer side. And apparently Katy Perry can bring it out. Anyway, I'm posting the video that's of a somewhat dark love song that does something to me. So share yours as well in this thread.

Here it is, "Thinking of You" by Katy Perry.

Don't spread my wealth, spread my work ethic!

"The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money." - Margaret Thatcher

"To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it."  - Thomas Jefferson

Lee,

I have a couple.  Strangely the first that popped into my head was UB40's "I can't help falling in love with you..." song, I don't know the title, but those are some of the lyrics. It's a remake of an older song.

It goes:

Wise men say - Only fools rush in,
But I can't help falling in love with you.
Repeat
Shall I stay - Would it be a sin,
If I can't help falling in love with you.

Like a river flows
Surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be

Take my hand - Take my whole life too,
For I can't help falling in love with you.
Wise men say, only fools rush in
but I can't help falling in love with you...

I also like the song "Unchained Melody" (you know, from the movie Ghost)

Oh, my love
my darling
I've hungered for your touch
a long lonely time
and time goes by so slowly
and time can do so much
are you still mine?
I need your love
I need your love
Godspeed your love to me

Lonely rivers flow to the sea,
to the sea
to the open arms of the sea
lonely rivers sigh 'wait for me, wait for me'
I'll be coming home wait for me

Oh, my love
my darling
I've hungered for your touch
a long lonely time
and time goes by so slowly
and time can do so much
are you still mine?
I need your love
I need your love
Godspeed your love to me

I also like Celion Dion's "The Power of Love"

The whispers in the morning
Of lovers sleeping tight
Are rolling like thunder now
As I look in your eyes

I hold on to your body
And feel each move you make
Your voice is warm and tender
A love that I could not forsake

(first chorus)
cause I am your lady
And you are my man
Whenever you reach for me
Ill do all that I can

Lost is how Im feeling lying in your arms
When the world outsides too
Much to take
That all ends when Im with you

Even though there may be times
It seems Im far away
Never wonder where I am
cause I am always by your side

(repeat first chorus)

(second chorus)
Were heading for something
Somewhere Ive never been
Sometimes I am frightened
But Im ready to learn
Of the power of love

And Huey Lewis and the News "The Power of Love"

The power of love is a curious thing

Make a one man weep
make another man sing

Change a hawk to a little white dove

More than a feeling
that's the power of love.

Tougher than diamonds
bricks like cream

Stronger and harder than a bad girl's dream

Make a bad one good
make a wrong one right

Power of love that keeps you home at night.

You don't need money
don't take fame

Don't need no credit card to ride this train.
It's strong and it's sudden and it's cruel sometimes

But it might just save your life.

That's the power of love
that's the power of love.

First time you feel it
it might make you sad

Next time you feel
it might make you mad.
But you'll be glad
baby
when you've found
that's the power makes the world go 'round.
And it don't take money
don't take fame

They say
that aIl in love is fair
yeah
but you don't care.
But you know what to do when it gets hold of you

And with a little help from above you feel the power of love

You feel the power of love
can you feel it?

It don't take money and it don't take fame

Don't need no credit card to ride this train.
Tougher than diamonds and stronger than steel

But you won't feel nothin' 'til you feel

You feel the power
just feel the power of love.
That's the power
that's the power of love.
You feel the power of love
you feel the power of love

Feel the power of love.

But the most AWESOME love song is the one you sing to GOD>>

Phillips, Craig and Dean Let My Words Be Few

You are God in heaven
And here am I on earth
So I'll let my words be few
Jesus, I am so in love with You

And I'll stand in awe of You, Jesus
Yes, I'll stand in awe of You
And I'll let my words be few
Jesus, I am so in love with You

The simplest of all love songs
I want to bring to You
So I'll let my words be few
Jesus, I am so in love with You

repeat chorus

AMEN!
