A question on shampoos and conditioners
« on: Mon Jun 18, 2018 - 08:44:29 »
For years I have use Nick Chavez Plump and Thick shampoo and conditioner. Probably at least 20 years.

As I was getting ready to reorder, and suck up the price increases I happened to read a review that said someone found an organic shapoo and conditioner that they loved so much cheaper.... Of course it went unnamed.

What do you all use?

We are talking, for mom and I .... both with colored hair, and hers with a perm. But hers also tends to be thin and limp.... Mine gets heavy and flat if I do not rinse out the conditioner very well.....

Just curious

I may not be of much help here, because every time I use a drugstore type of shampoo, my hair dries up and breaks off. If anyone has any recommendations for a good drugstore shampoo that won't do that, I'd love to know, because I don't like spending what I spend on my shampoo!

For what it's worth, here are the products I use on my hair-

For color-

Clairol Perfect 10 in ash brown

For shampoo and conditioner-

Pureology
It's expensive, but keeps my hair soft with lots of body, and protects my color.

I also use a root lift so I can skip any hairspray. I did my roots with this yesterday, and this morning, I still have lots of lift. It's not expensive and you can get it at Walmart or the drugstore.

Also, about once a month, I massage tons of coconut oil into my hair, then wrap it in a hot towel. It's a greasy mess, but it really does help put a deep condition on my hair.

I never  buy pricey  things.........   I have had nice thick hair all my life.

No problems.......  I always  make sure to rinse the  shampoo  out real

good !   and also the  rinse ........  now at 83  its thinning  ,  but that

is normal at my age .........!

I use the just common shampoo but not a lot, and a little conditioner. I think they are all the same inside, they just smell and look a little different.

I use Pantene shampoo or L'Occitane intensive repair shampoo if my hair needs it, the latter is completely sulphate-free and lovely as it never irritates my scalp. Though expensive, a little goes a long way and my hair looks wonderful afterwards, and I feel good.
