DIfference between Church of Brethren and United Brethren?

Hi all - brand new here!
I am looking for some help. I have not been to church in at least a decade. It was a very bad experience for me, growing up - I was not treated well and felt like I was the worst person alive, just because I had normal human thoughts and feelings. It wasn't until recently that I realized this has nothing to do with Christianity and everything to do with that particular church. We never attended regularly, maybe 3-4 times a year. I know the Lord's Prayer and that's about it.

So anyway....

I want to go to church, and I want my children to go to church.

There are many, many Brethren churches in my area. One is walking distance, which is really saying something, as I am about 25 miles from the nearest town. (We also have many Mennonite churches and a large Amish population.)

I have been reading up on this denomination and I really feel compelled to it. I think it's a great fit for us. But - in our area there is Church of the Brethren, and United Church of the Brethren.

What is the difference?
