Just wanted to have a positive thread about the peace that comes with being a child of God.

I have some worldly friends who are just worried crazy about the economy. Everybody who hasn't been living under a rock is just as concerned, and things don't seem to be getting better.

Of course, I'm worried about it all too, and I have my own personal feelings about what would fix it all, but it's definitely times like these that remind me how wonderful it is to worship a merciful God who will take care of His people and will never give us more than we can handle with His help. The problems with the economy are simply a symptom of a bigger problem: a crumbling idea of morality throughout the earth. It certainly gives me peace to know where I'm going.

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." -Phillippians 4:6, 7

"And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It [is] my people: and they shall say, The LORD [is] my God."   -Zechariah 13:9

(you will get more response from negative posts! ha!)

bro. R,
thanks for the reminder; I need it in these times!
and on top of the economy is the environment at work!
and then there is daily stress!

you reminded me of a time in about 1986; having trouble, frustrated.
I began to turn it over to the Lord in prayer, and this incomprehensible, indescribable peace was His gift!
the butthead causing the stress did not change; I changed how I was reacting; rather He changed me.

why do I often fail to resort to this avenue of escape?!

count your blessings.
give it to God.
relax.
bless the bh's in your life!
