*#$% ( &*$%^ * no network securities
« on: Tue Jul 23, 2019 - 13:55:21 »
Long story short.

Up dating the maps on Gypsie I could not. So I answered a popup tech window
about this and was connected with a girl who spent 10 min in my laptop
only to tell me I cnnot update maps because......

I have no network securities and she showed me something that said
microsoft network securities stopped.

ultimately they can help me but it will cost.

I said no way..... (I suspect she did somethig)

But any input would be appreciated cause I am not going to  spend 2 or 300
to someone.

This laptop is not worth any money and neither is my other... my main died a few days ago, but
am not replacing.... yet.

Don't ever call numbers from a pop up.  They are scammers.  Don't ever let someone remotely connect to your computer either.

I might if they come 17"

I did not call a number from the popup.

A popup asked if I needed help.

It was from the Garmin site, their lifetime maps update, that would not update and I clicked their help button nd the window popped up.

I knew it was a scam and cut them loose as soon as they wanted to do more....

Thanks....

BTW... I worked at it long enough to get them updated for next weeks trip.

We girls are going on a road trip.....
