I had written directly to Samsung yesterday and got replies to my emails.
One was a phone number where I can call and discuss getting a new battery. ( I already ordered one from somewhere , that says it is Samsung, but was advised it might be a counterfeit. So, I will see what Samsung tells me.
My 2nd email was regarding how hot my cell gets when doing certain things on it. Not with phone calls, or even checking emails, but some apps and searches.
I got the following reply from them, and before I do anything like is suggested, I would like anyones opinion if this sounds reasonable, and what the down falls would be if I do....
I pray this comes through cause I copied/pasted from my email
Thank you for contacting Samsung Technical Support.
I understand that your phone is getting warm while using apps and want to get it fixed. I'll help you with the required options to isolate the issue.
1. Access the below link and follow the steps on the phone.
2. Check if there is any software update available for the phone from Home screen >> Apps >> Tap on Settings >> Software update >> Check for updates.
3. Safe Mode:
Safe Mode will disable all the third-party applications that are running on the phone.
a. Power the phone off then power it back on.
b. Press and hold Volume Down when the animated Samsung logo appears.
Important: If you use Fingerprint or Iris security features the device will require the backup password to unlock after rebooting.
c. The Phone is now in safe mode. Safe Mode will appear in the lower left corner of the screen.
d. Test to see if the issue is still occurring while in safe mode. If it is not there is an issue with the application/s while in safe mode the app developer/s would need to be contacted.
Note: To exit safe mode, restart the phone. When your phone exits Safe Mode, some of your customization options, for example; themes and wallpapers may be reset to default.
Observe the phone in Safe Mode, if the issue get fixed, uninstall all the applications that are downloaded from play store.
If the issue persist in Safe Mode, write back to us with the IMEI number of the phone from
Home screen >> Apps >> Tap on Settings >> About Device >> IMEI Number.
If you wish to chat, email or call us for further assistance, please go to the “Contact Us” option available on the right hand side of the E-mail.
