degraded NVIDIA

When I start my computer, on the black screen, I can see two lines of text in red which say:
degraded NVIDIA 88G.336
degraded NVIDIA 88G.336

. . . or says something like that but I did see the letters 'NVIDIA' for sure?
and then the black screen disappears in a couple of seconds as usual and my computer seems otherwise uneffected.
Does this mean something is wrong with my NVIDIA, whatever that is and does? If so, do you have to take your computer to a technician to replace it or can you download a new NVIDIA to replace the degraded one? Thanks.

NVIDIA is a graphics card....the error is telling you there is an issue with the graphics card on your computer.  Is it a desktop or a laptop?

If it is a desktop, it may just be loose...open the case, blow off the dust and make sure it is in there securely.

You can also try updating the driver.  Let me know what operating system you are using and I can give you specifics, ok?

It's possibly an error with Nvidia monitoring software for hardware you don't have installed or the software is corrupted and needs to be re-installed. That's why the problem appears during post.
