Dear friends,
hello,
i've got my laptop for about 2-3 years,
whenever i charge the laptop, the battery doesn't get charged easily & takes many hours whereas earlier the laptop would charge easily,
is there something wrong with the laptop or battery,
thankyou,
kind regards.
Becky.

Batteries die slowly and that often starts at about 3-4 years.  So if the unit sat on some shelf for a year before you got it it is just about right on schedule.

There is a sizable number of vendors out there for aftermarket batteries, including Amazon.com.

Do a search.

Depends on how it is treated and the quality. A well cared for good quality(usually expensive >$1000) laptop COULD last anywhere from 5 to 10 years, whereas a low quality and/or badly treated one probably won’t last more than 3 or 4 years, if that.

I bought a battery for an old Gateway laptop on Ebay for under $10 and works perfectly.
