I have Ubuntu on my laptop (dual boot system with Win7) and on a netbook.

I use it some but it is still a bit klunky. I definately do NOT like the new Unity desktop that one friend described as the "Fisher Price interface."

Just like Star Wars Episode 1, San Fransisco, and guacamole, Unity does not exist in my world.  I just refuse to accept it's existance.

Currently, I'm running three linux machines.

My desktop is a 2.8Ghz p4 with a gig of ram, 16gb solid state drive, and 4tb IDE drive (for swap, /tmp, /srv, /var, and /home since those are the partitions that get the most writes, which kills SSD's.)  Running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

My laptop is an old 600mhz with 256mb of ram and a 20gb drive running lubuntu (lxde instead of gnome)  The only time I really use it is for service calls to friend's houses to fix their computers.  It is a huge help to have ssh and ethereal handy.

The third machine is a VPN/mail/samba/cloud server running ubuntu server 10.04 on a  dual processor 2ghz P4 (x2) with 4GB ram, a 16gb ssd, and raid 1+0'd 1tb IDE's.  A few weeks ago someone gave me an old MPVPN that had a 4port gigabit NIC in it that I threw in my server and boy has that helped!  4x 10/100/1000 ports plugged into the internet.  My files sync almost before I'm through typing the commands.
