Depends where, the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) has become the first Canadian city to top the one million mark for average home costs. Not a very good value unless you're making a family income of at least 200k. British Columbia is not far behind.
Just had to check out what a 4 bedroom house in Toronto could cost and it's IRO CDN$640k upwards getting closer to the town, whereas my 6 bedroom (formerly 4 bedroom) villa cost me 300,000 euros, but it's up in the sticks north-west of Mallorca and I did renos on it last year adding 2 more bedroom.
-Oh and to keep within Topic here, last year I bought myself a fine 15" little used ASUS N56VJ with a backlit keyboard and Bang & Olufsen audio. The laptop cost me 650 eur and it was near-pristine condition which was a bargain as it came in a hardwearing crushproof Pelican case. I added a DAC to improve its audio output and wired in self-amped studio monitors, so it's really lovely. Sometimes when TV is boring I'll hook the laptop up and play You Tube tracks on the telly. That's really fun and thrills my daughter Peggy!
200k per annum income?? That's really interesting as the current exchange rate of CDN$ to the Euro today currently equates to 132,200. My average earnings as an artisan jeweller is nudging 100k/ £90k / CDN$150k and I work no less than a 60 hour week!
It's my day off today. That's why I'm
busy on the forum!
I'm beginning to love it here
