Got a computer question in case anyone out there might know what I need.
Our home PC (the one the kids use for homework...) will not connect to the internet. We have cable internet and it connects directly to the PC via an ethernet cable. I tried switching to a different ethernet cable, thinking maybe it died...but that didn't help.
My laptop, that works via a router on the same network, is fine. So it isn't the "internet service" that is the issue.
I'm thinking maybe something inside the PC died...a piece of hardware that controls the online stuff.
Any thoughts? If it is a piece of hardware...any thoughts on what it would be?
It is a rather old PC, running Windows XP currently.
