Quick Verse Bible Suite
« on: Mon Nov 12, 2007 - 19:42:16 »
 ::shrug::

I hope someone out there can help me.  I am as computer savvy as a poached egg!
Anyway, I bought this bible software called Quick Verse.  I have an Acer laptop that I bought this summer.  It has Windows Vista.
The program downloaded successfully.  That's what I am told.  The icon shows up on the screen.  It appears but I have no idea how to access the over 50 bibles and reference works it contains.
Can you suggest anything helpful here as to how to use it?
Honest...I still can't figure out how a lightbulb works let alone this stuff!
Thanks for your consideration and suggests, if any.  Bye.
Michael
P.S.:  The system requirements are stated as Windows 98SE/2000/ME/XP, Pentium 111 500 or greater, 256 MB of RAM, 500+ MB hard drive space and CD-ROM/DVD ::pondering::
(The main page show up on the screen but I haven't a clue as how to get the stuff I want.)

I have used Quickverse for about 10 years. It is a wonderful program, what version do you have and what year?

Hi Weeble!

It just says on the cover QuickVerse Bible Suite and the year is 2007. The year 2007 has a blue background.
My laptop does not have a hook-up to the Internet--if that means anything.  I have a paper insert that shows the covers of different QuickVerse.  The cover on my box resembles the 2007 Standard.  It's not identical but comes close.  I'm just alittle confused.  Maybe I should look up their website.  I guess that is a sensible thing to do.  Anyway thanks for your response Weeble.  I do confess computers still intimidate me alittle!  Bye...

OK Mikey The blue box is for QV 2007 for Windows, so here's what you do.

When you click on the Icon the program opens up. In the upper left corner under the O in the word Options you will see a book with several different colored pages. Click on that and you will open up your library pane. Then select the Bible you want to view adn it will open up.

If you want to compare several different translations click on several different translations and then click on the word Window. In that menu you can choose the option to Cascade the windows or Tile the windows.  Pick tile and you can see all of the windows that you have opened at one time.

I hope this helps.

Hi Weeble.  Greetings from the Frozen North!
Sorry in the delay in getting back to you.  I do appreciate your effort to help this old dog learn a few tricks!  I have tried your suggestions.  I am still having difficulties.  I think I will take the 'monster' to my church next weekend and see if someone there can give me some personal hands-on experience.
I haven't 'registered' this thing yet.  Is that important?  I guess I should.
Anyway Weeble, thank you for your efforts.  I'll soldier on...bye and take care.  Michael
