Doing some shopping with the kids for groceries.  Probably fried ground cow on buns with fried sliced potatoes and flavored and carbonated hi fructose corn syrup water.

Rest of our weekend is crazy with non-family stuff, so this evening was a family night.  We hung out at the mall & grabbed chicken parmigiana at a (new to us) local diner.  Very good.  Fresh salad, fresh bread baked on site, and really good ice water.

Tonight... It's Mac and Cheese.

Boil 8 oz of Large elbow Macaroni to "aldente"...

In sauce pan,  3 Tblsp of Butter, melted, stir in 2 Tblsp flour to make a rue

Add in 3 cups of Milk and salt and peper to taste, add 1/2 teaspoon of dried mustard

Bring to simmer and add 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, and 2 cups Shredded Gruyere cheese til melted.

Mix with Macaroni and pour into greased 9X13 pan (I use glass)
... bake at 350 for 20 to 30 minutes till bubbly and browned.

This and a salad makes a great dinner.

Sounds tasty!
I make my mac & cheese (macaroni pie) by boiling the elbow macaroni, adding grated sharp cheddar and four cheese mix and 1/4 cup of milk. Then I bake it for 10-15 mins and sprinkle black pepper on top.

It's great, now I'm hungry....I've lost track of time and didn't eat anything for dinner! I should probably go cook now  Blushing  Thanks for reminding me....

Macaroni pie it is!
