I have a recipe blog. Most everything makes more than one serving, but almost all of the recipes are also great for freezing - an ideal setup for singles. You could conceivably cook once a month, portion everything out into ziploc bags, freeze it, and have enough to eat for the next 30 days.

You should monetize that blog with a Google Adsense widget and earn a few extra $$ each month. :)

I've thought about it, but I don't think it gets enough hits to make it worth the annoying ads.

FAST = INEXPENSIVE = DELICIOUS    ;simply prepare one package of Ramen in accordence to directions (this may be any flavor ramen) then add four large tablespoons of KIM-CHEE. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.  Its ready pour into soupbowl and enjoy.  Its sooo good nonfattening and cheap.  One of my sons scoffs at this gourmet delight, calling it ,"poor people food), but no matter what its called tis very very good.  myself, I refer to it as KIM-CHEE SOUP.

I really bet that the reason most single people ask for recipes is that they are flat out sick of Ramien noodles.

ROFL!!! I (like many others) would not have survived college were it not for ramen noodles!

I will say that that ramen noodle coleslaw is pretty good, though....

Egg salad can be kept for a couple days.

Begin to boil elbow pasta

In the meantime:

Boil 6-8 eggs, dice them

Place eggs in large bowl along with:

Lima beans

Onion (finely chopped)

corn

peas & carrots

Mayo (or miracle whip-less fat) & Grey poupon (to your liking)

I personally like it with a sprinkle of Paprika and placing it in the fridge for atleast 10 mins before eating.

Good stuff!    FYI: Eggs have the most protein than any other meat

Beef Tacos

This is really easy to me and takes about 15 mins (really, I know it seems like there are many steps but it's quick) and includes healthy vegetables.

You can buy the Od El Paso dinner kit and follow the directions on the box (it comes with soft or hard taco shells, a salsa packet and seasoning powder for the meat). The rest of the ingredients include:

1 lb of Ground Beef (Ground trurkey or chicken can be substituted)

1 tbsp of chopped garlic (I like Spice Worlds pre chopped garlic in the jar)

1/2 Vidalia Onion -chopped

1/2 Tomato-chopped

1/4 Iceberg lettuce-chopped

Shredded cheese

Sour cream

Black pepper, Goya Adobo powder, Parika

1. Place a tbsp each of olive oil and garlic into a sauce pan on medium heat.

2. Add an even sprinkle paprika, Goya adobo powder (my favorite seasoning of all time) and black pepper to the saucepan.

3. Next, place the meat into the pan.

4. raise the temp slightly (medium is 5 out of 10, raise to 7)

5. Cook until the meat is no longer pink.

6. Add 1/2 cup of water-or how much it takes to reach the top of your meat.

Add seasoning powder from the El Paso kit (I only use half a pack of the seasoning powder)

 Stir thoroughly.

7. After 5 mins-or boiling bubbles- lower heat

8. Turn off when the water level has lowered to a think paste at the bottom of the pan.

9. Scoop meat into slightly heated tacos (heating the tacos is optional) and top each with a dollop of taco sauce, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and cheese.

This recipe makes about 6-7 tacos. I store the left over meat and toppings in a tupperware.

Fem your egg salad sounds really good.  Old people always have to have a forever.  However, I prefer to boil my beans with a couple handfuls of rice, a large meaty ham bone.  Boil  or simmer until everythins tender , put it in a large bowl and eat it with corn bread.  WARNING; do not add kimchee.  What I don`t eat the first day i`ll  eat the next three days.  No ambiance, just good eating.

What kind of beans? Do you have a replacement for the ham?

I always ,make that almost always, adult Lima beans. Sometimes Lima beans are called butter beans.  I have used Pinto beans in the same way. Getting hungry for them just thinking of them.  As far as a replacement for the ham bone goes I have on occasion taken a whole chicken ,put it into a stock pot boiled it until the meat was falling from the bones, removed the chicken from the pot , put the beans in the liquid and cooked the beans in that liquid,at the same time removing the chicken meat from the bones and adding it to the pot with the liquid and the beans.  when the beans are soft it is ready.  One thing I failed to mention, I do not add salt.  Every thing has a natural form of sugar and if salt is not added the natural flavors and the sweetness are permitted to happen.  People may later add their own salt.  Many of them do so anyway.   Didn`t know you would get such a long answer did you? Neither did I.  GOD bless. Thank you JESUS ,AMEN   Smile
