Hi there :)

I've recently been wondering if I'm sinning with out even noticing it. i mean, there are ways christian should live, but are there also meals we should and shouldn't take? the reason for me to ask this question is that i can't figure out if there are some meals that are more appropriate to consume as a christian than others?  Confused

i my self like Cheeseburgers a lot, but if it is a sin, I'd consider my  self as a bad christian due to all the times I've eaten a cheeseburger.. so please, does anyone have an answer to my question?  Praying hard

Kind Regards

A muslim person isn't allowed to enjoy a piece of minced meat, but christians are. So why wouldn't you be allowed to have a cheeseburger, brother?

Best regards

If you take a look at Mark 7:1-23, you will see that Jesus said it is not the food that goes into your mouth that makes you unclean, but rather the words that come out of you that do.

The body is a temple of god, to many cheeseburgers, messes up that temple.

Ditto... gluttony is the problem, not the actual food you eat.

The body is a temple of god, to many cheeseburgers, messes up that temple.
Just as a quick aside....1st Cor. 6 is talking about sexual immorality.  Cheeseburgers, in this context are not about sexual immorality.  There's much more going on in that passage than "eat healthy" and the way people misuse that passage drains it of its original intent and causes people to call things sin that God never did, causing people to take a neo-"do not handle, do not taste, do not touch"* approach to their faith, heaping guilt of sins that don't exist upon their backs.

----------------

This passage speaks to food restrictions...

Quote
1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 3 They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. 4 For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.
6 If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. 7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. 8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

1st Timothy 4, NIV

This passage would warn us not to go overboard...
Quote
21For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.

Proverbs 23, KJV

---------------------

* Col. 2, NLT, "20 You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from the evil powers of this world. So why do you keep on following rules of the world, such as, 21 "Don't handle, don't eat, don't touch." 22 Such rules are mere human teaching about things that are gone as soon as we use them. 23 These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, humility, and severe bodily discipline. But they have no effect when it comes to conquering a person's evil thoughts and desires."

So, what you're saying is that I'm not a bad christian because of the cheeseburgers that I've consumed over the years? - what a relief!  Clapping up high

I am aware it is about sexual immorality, but the reason that it is such a good passage is that it speaks wisdom to a great many things. It is not about the sin of eating, it is about excess, which the bible warns about very frequently, as you showed.

From what I've read in Paul's epistles, I'd say a "Christian correct dinner" is just about anything edible, so long is you've not been informed that any of it was sacrificed to idols.

....even if you were, it you don't think the idol's a God, go ahead and eat it (the food, not the idol).
