As most of you know, the Two Witnesses of Chapter 11 of the Book of Revelation are described to have the following powers and abilities in Revelation 11:3-6:

And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

Does anyone in this forum believe that if the Two Witnesses were to appear today, in the year 2012, they they will be able to actually do these things?

No.

I have realized since 1990 that the Two Witnesses of Chapter 11 of Revelation cannot literally do those powers ascribed to them in Rev. 11:3-6 during their time of ministry, which is not, by the way, necessarily limited to only 1,260 days.

To me, Rev. 11:3-6 symbolically means that during the time of their ministry, the Two Witnesses will be able to do whatever they are meant to do for God during the years leading up to the day of Christ's Second Coming and have great influence on the world-at-large and no thing and no person will be able to stop them.
