We were talking about this question in the General Discussion Area, and someone said we should bring the question over here.  So what do you think?  Why did God make people?

As originally stated in Gen.1v26, GOD said : Let us make man in our image , after our likeness.....
in plain words : to create us after the GOD-kind , to become as HE is.
In previous verses we read that he created 'living Creatures each 'after THEIR own kind v21.
These only describe the very basic physical existence of living creatures of which 'man is one in his natural state. But we are 'to become spirit as GOD IS SPIRIT' and have 'eternal Life.
But why are we first ' mortal human beings ?  So we can die if we reject God's plan and purpose  since he will not force HIS WILL on us. We are to accept it of our own free will Deut.30v19.

We are also flesh and blood because of God's plan of Pro-creation.  As for the flesh, we are ALL going to die once, this mortal body, save those who are alive when the Lion of Judah returns with the splitting of the Eastern Sky...........but that's another thread.

Because reality TV is even better when it's just plain "reality?"

The reason we are mortal flesh and blood is so we do not have to suffer eternal punishment if we reject Christ as our Saviour. And some will.
We are mortal so we can die and 'be as if we had never been'. Obed.v16. This is God being merciful to man.

I agree, Beta.

I am so pleased that at least a few can see God's Love and Mercy toward all of us  - even unrepentant sinners. He will not have them suffering eternal torment as traditional christians are quick to believe.Mal.4v3, for they will be ashes under the feet of the saints.

I've read this a few times, and I am left believing that you just made a mistake in typing, because I know you didn't mean to say what you said.............

I thought that ALL who REJECT Him WILL face eternal punishment..................

I supose we could say God made us flesh and blood because it pleased Him to do so.  After all, who can know the mind of God?  Who can reason with Him?

Yes you are right, thank you for bringing this to my attention.
There is eternal punishment.....but not eternal punishing ....which is what people associate with the wicked. The general belief is (regardless of punishment/punishing) that the wicked will suffer for all eternity in the lake of fire. That is not so !!!
For they will be ashes under the feet of the saints Mal.4v3 , they will burn up...as if they had not been Obed.v16 and that is their punishment - not eternal punishing.

I firmly believe that whatever God does/creates is for a purpose and not for his pleasure or amusement. It is not his will that any of us suffer or die ...and that is certainly our 'lot at present.... but for a good reason.

We don't actualy know why. There are general answers which are sufficient for now. But given that God could have prevented the events of the Fall, but allowed it, that means to me that the future purpose he has for humanity is highly significant to have warranted allowing the event that will lead to billions of our race going to hell. The allowing of the Fall was the ahrdest decision God has made in his relatioship with humanity. The purpose for the saving of the relatively few must be beyond our ability to imagine to warrant this cost to God, and to the lost.
