"Seeing Everything As An Opportunity"
Today I am spending my time praying...being quiet with God and feeling God's presence. In my mind and heart I know the real reasons to celebrate, but my flesh felt that it has a longing for something - - maybe the fulfillment of my wish about my career; I am also being bothered by how my father treats me. So, with all these things coming to my mind, this robs me of joy.
Analyzing all these things, this points me toward only one person - - Jesus - - - the true source of joy and the springs and source of the living waters (John 7:37-39). My flesh would tell me all the reasons to be sad, at this point in my life, but I choose not to believe it! Jesus said to Thomas, that blessed are those who believe yet they have not seen. John 20:29 - - "Then Jesus told him, 'Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
So what I believe is contrary to what I felt...God's promises compared to my present situations. I realized this gives me an opportunity to expand my faith, deepen my relationship with God, focus my attention on God and submit to God in how He rules me in His peace. So my thorn in the flesh produces good result in my inner being!
Though it may look outwardly that I am decaying, I am being renewed inwardly day by day; 2nd Corinthians 4:16 says, "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day".
So - - -
"My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth."
When people fail me, this gives me an opportunity to see the unfailing love of God to me. He is the only one who never gives up on me and who loves me unconditionally. So, in my circumstances, more and more I can see the love of God on me. But, of course, we should not be anti-loving other people, even those who have been indifferent to us. We are called by God to love even those who are not good to us. So I see this as an opportunity that God uses to teach me how to love, how to be patient, and how to be prayerful.
Maybe God is sharing with me what it means to be thankful and joyful in every circumstance. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, "Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." So...instead of me focusing on the negativity of my situations, God is teaching me.
Colossians 3:1-2 says, "Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." "Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:16-20)
So, I think these are God's revelations to me, for now. And I got that the whole message of God is summed up as what it says in 2 Corinthians 4:16-20.
So, its good to see you. My heartfelt and warm wishes for you, this Christmas. Be ready to give love, no matter what. We can learn to choose our battle. And I also need to learn on this.
We need to remember, when faced with adversities, that the battle is not ours but for God. 2 Chronicles 20:15 says, "He said: "Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's.'"
Have a good time with your family. Be ready emotionally, spiritually and physically to celebrate with them. Always take care. May God always bless you and protect you and guide you continually.
Have a blessed Christmas!!!! My prayers are with you.
