Seek the Lord
« on: Sun Jul 30, 2017 - 12:51:14 »
Prayer is how we exercise our faith in God, Hebrews 11:6. We go to God in prayer with confidence in his power to supply all that we need.  For God is in control of all things, he along is all knowing, nothing can escape his supreme rule. As we seek God through the word and commune with him in prayer, we discover the will of God. For our Father knows how to give good things to them that ask him, Matthew7:11.
Let us therefore trust in the fact that God is “a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Prayer is the principle way in which we seek the Lord. Life can be understood has a prayer for good or evil. We communicate to God in the life we live not only in word but in deed. We can choose to seek the will of God in all that we do or we can seek to please ourselves. The choices we make go up before God and they speak much louder than words. In this way our lives are understood to be a prayer for good or evil.
Our greatest challenge is to hear and to respond to the voice of God. The word of God is the voice of God. “All scripture is given by the inspiration of God,” 2 Timothy 3:16. The word inspiration is defined in the Greek as divine breathe of God. The breathe of God is the voice of life and power. For Jesus hath said “the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life,” John 6:63.
The prophet is pleading with the people of Israel to seek the Lord, Isaiah 55:6-7. There is a call to forsake two things, there wicked ways and there unrighteous thoughts. A man’s manner of life is determined by his thoughts; wicked behavior is the consequence of wicked thinking. The wicked can be transformed into the righteous, by the renewing of the mind in the word of God. To renew, it means to make new over and over again. Daily we seek the Lord in offering ourselves to the transforming power of the renewed mind in the word of God.
We seek the Lord daily because his thoughts and ways are not like ours. We are living creatures fashioned by the Creator. The heavens are full of his glory. We can by the word of God and prayer discover the will of God for our lives. We must daily seek to know the will of God. We seek the Lord because his word is like the rain that falls upon the earth, so that every living thing may bring forth fruit. We must have water to live. The word of God is the source of living waters; we’ll find in it all that we need to prosper.
The word of God in you is working to manifest the will of God through you, Isaiah 55:11. “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure,” Philippians 2:13.The word of God endows with power to do the will of God. The word is the seed of God planted into the heart to bring forth the fruit of righteousness. This seed is the very nature of God working in the believer a life of glory and virtue.
Now is the time to seek the Lord. If you want to receive you must be willing to ask. You’ll find whatever you are willing to seek for. If you knock, the door will be opened. If you call upon the name of the Lord you’ll find him. “The Lord is night unto all them that call upon his name.” Psalms 145:18. The Lord is nearer to you than you thing, his hears are open, and his arms are outstretched to all who call upon him. Our God never sleeps nor slumbers.
