To sow righteousness by being a doer of the word of God will cause you to reap the mercies of God, Hos. 10:12. This is the benefit of sowing righteousness into one’s life. “Break up the fallow ground.” The meaning of fallow ground is land that has been plowed but no seed has been planted. The believer is said to be good ground because he has the ability to receive the word of Christ and bear fruit. The word of God is seed to the sower of righteousness. The promise of more is given to all who sow in righteousness. If we sow righteousness God will open the flood gates and rain righteousness upon us.
Whatever you plant into your life one day it will come to harvest, Gal. 6:7-10. God has set forth the law of sowing and reaping into the universe. You cannot expect to reap were you have not sown. There can be no heaven for the selfish, on love for the unloving, on forgiveness for the unforgiving. Never give into fear or doubt, whatever you sow you will reap, God cannot lie. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. “He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”
We should take great confidence in the fact that God has appointed a season of reaping if we faint not. Don’t be discouraged by the trouble that comes to hinder. “He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.” The wind, the clouds, and even the rain represent the many ways that trouble can come. Always remember trouble is temporary like the wind, the clouds and the rain, trouble is always passing. No storm is meant to last forever. “Behind the dim unknown God is forever watching over his own.”
Let us not be discouraged but with every opportunity do good we should. “Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.” Be not deceived God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”” And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, and said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you.”
He that sows the word of God is already blessed in whatever he does. Because he is blessed in whatever he does he can be a blessing to others. The word of God is the seed to the sower and it has made him to prosper in whatever he does and where ever he goes. “For as the rain cometh down and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth bud, that it my give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing I were unto I sent it. “
As you sow the word of God into your life it will add to you the blessing of health, and prosperity. “Be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” Your labor will sometimes be in dishonor; But God will one day raise it up in glory; it is sown in weakness but God will one day raise it up in power. “Then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in Victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy Victory?”
