The Anointing
« on: Sat May 06, 2017 - 21:18:22 »
The Anointing is the power to serve in the call that God has placed upon one’s life, Acts 1:8. All of us have been called to witness. It is impossible to bear witness to something that you have no experience of. The infilling of the Holy Ghost is a day to day personal walk with God. Out of this experience the anointing empowers the believer to serve in the call that God has placed upon one’s life.
The Anointing will not come without sanctification, John 17:19-21, the believer is sanctified by the word of God. We are hated by the world because the world cannot receive what has been set apart for the glory and honor of God. God has placed his Spirit inside of you so that you can have power to overcome the world. God has placed the anointing within you by the spirit of his word. The Spirit of truth is the Anointing of God to teach, comfort and keep every child of God.
The key to the anointing is constantly being in the presence of Jesus, Acts 4:13. The anointing is the spirit of Jesus. It is essential for oil to be in the lamp for light to shine forth. Is there oil in your vessel? The spirit of Jesus is the oil that causes one’s life to shine forth. Is your lamp trimmed and burning? “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts,” Zechariah 4:6. The Lord is saying my spirit will deliver and accomplish what human effort cannot do. The Spirit of the Lord is working to perform the will of God.
Are you willing to pay the price to obtain the oil? Matthew 25:6-13. The price is a willingness to surrender one’s life in service to God; once this is done you will become a vessel that God will fill with his power and glory. There must be a wiliness to offer up your whole life to God, anything less than this is foolishness. There is only one thing that separates the wise from the foolish, a willingness to pay the price. The price you pay is the cross you bare. Consider the price; count the cost for the oil is a very precious possession.
