Okay, I'm asking this of Eastern Orthodox church members.  Which is the true church, Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox?

This will be fun. While my EO friends answer the OP, could you please enlarge on your answer and explain why you think so?

That would be cool.

Thanks.

While I agree with HR, let me answer your question Stucky. The EO churches are the true church.  The reason is simple: we have the faith given once for all (Jude 3).  The RCC has changed things; examples: papal universal authority, filioque, purgatory, not to mention the "i" word -- I told you not to mention it (Maxwell Smart), papal infallibility.

Either Stucky was ready to convert or he was just happy that his attempt to stir up trouble was proceeding.  I'm guessing not the former.

The Eastern Churches ~ All of them were One Church ~ the church of Rome was one of ~ The Universal Church ( catholic = universal ) there was no head office, no central authority, no bishop in charge ```

The Rome was moved to Constantinople and was called The Roman Empire, Byzantine Empire  , in about 330 Christianity was legalized ~ eventually the church in Rome took on the name catholic (Universal) saying all those who were part of the Universal (Catholic) Church were or should be under their authority ~ that has not gone over well ```

WHO'S RIGHT?

The Eastern Churches have kept the True Faith ~ taught them by the Apostles ~ men who were taught by Christ ~ so they are Right even if someone else has the True Faith ~ Catholic people believe and almost exactly the Faith of Eastern Churches ~ more so older catholics (as the roman church has drifted in its teaching ~ Protestants ~ those who Protested against the roman church seem to have drifted with them and away from them ~ the New Testament is to a great extent the day to day history or records of the Eastern Church ~ Eastern Orthodox Church is not the only eastern Orthodox Church ~ many of which are Apostolic, started by one or more Apostles ```

The Orthodox Churches of course believe they are right as they are following the teaching of the Apostles ~ the Roman Church says they are right ~ and the Protestants think they are on the dime ~ while still resenting Rome ```

What do you think ~ are you Christian ~ do you follow closely the teaching of Christ ~ do you know what Christ said and did ~ When we the Universal Church put the books of the Bible together ~ only so much (The Gospels) were included) much of the teaching is tradition and some translations leave something to be said ```

God be with All Christians ~ not all Christian have had the advantage of the Full Story ~ the Complete Word ~ I hope you have ```
