https://www.rawstory.com/2017/12/florida-rally-cheers-when-republican-predicts-trumps-jerusalem-embassy-decision-may-usher-in-armageddon/

At the recent Florida Trump rally Senator Broxon of Florida indicated that Trump's acknowledgement of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel might usher in the return of Christ to begin His reign from Jerusalem.

I realize that this could be moved to the Politics forum but this sort of belief is not limited to what has transpired recently in the political realm.   Many have predicted the return of Christ to be at a specific time or related to a specific event since He ascended to be at the right hand of the Father in Heaven.   In modern times, since 1948 especially when Jews re-established a permanent homeland in Palestine, Christians have been expecting the return of Christ to be soon.   I believe that many Christians are looking at Trump and what he has done as a sign of the return of Christ; But is Israel God's timepiece?   I used to believe so.   But I no longer believe that the time of Christ's return is dictated by Middle East events or especially events related to Israel.   John Hagee's group, CUFI, or Christians United For Israel, have long believed that they can help things along by influencing the US government to make a preemptive strike against Iran.   My belief is that God has His own plan and He does not need our help to move His plan ahead of schedule.

What do you think?  Will Trump's actions or the actions of our government in the Middle East speed up the process of proving that the Dispensationals are right that the Book of Revelation is essentially a book about end-time events with the focus on God's dealing with the Jews?

No. (Gal 3:28).  The Book of Revelation is about the events in the entire time between Christ's first coming and His second coming.

The capital of Israel being Jerusalem will not affect God’s plan and timetable for Christ’s return.

Nostreligus:

Both the Middle East and Israel can be included in end time prophesy. Look at it this way, Islam has what Israel wants, that being the Holy place where that abomination of desolation sits, the Dome of the Rock. And Israel has what Islam wants, Jerusalem. The expendables in this war will be the poor Palestinian suckers and their on the take leaders who are puppets being paid off by Iran to continue the unrest in the area.

All the players are in place, the Middle East is warming up. Iran will incite the Palestinian into making the first move. The only other thing I see that can incite the war that is waiting just around the corner is, if Israel makes a strike against Iran for whatever reason, and that strike effects Russian investments in a major way, then Iran with Russian support will make their move being supported by Libya, Syria, Jordan and others.

I believe the Lord was behind Trumps win, in order to slow down what Obama was doing for Iran, as in the 150 billion dollars stolen from us, and the turning loose of terrorist for a traitor etc. Obama continually degraded and abandoned Israel, and backed the Palestinian and Arab world. He supported every U.N. mandate against Israel and including his own country and people, America. As far as I'm concerned, Obama is a traitor to the highest degree, and I hope these future investigations nail him good and prove what everybody knows who and what he really is.

Just a side note. There does appear to be a Scripture that suggests that we can "speed up" the day of the Lord's return. It appears to be
concerning how we live, and look for Jesus' appearing:

"Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat". (2 Peter 3:11-12)

I mention this as the post speaks of John Hagee and others hopes of hastening the day of the Lord. I'm not sure if that is actually possible----but this verse seems to indicate that we can
"hasten" the Lord's return by actions that we all take as Christians.  I just wanted to mention that as it came to mind when reading this thread.
