Come on, take a break! Use some ommon sense, if the LORD's message was to be for 1335 and not 1290 the verse would have stated it plain and simple.

Well, aren't you the final authority on what makes sense and what doesn't. rofl

Of course, in your view, adding 45 days to the original 1290 makes no sense. You have already concluded what you will and you will not consider anything else or at least try to see things from the viewpoint of people who disagree with you.

In your OP you said this:

Quote
Break down each phrase of the following verse. Tell me what you understand each to means.

What are you looking for here? For everybody to agree with you? To correct those who disagree so that everybody will agree with you?

If this is an open discussion, then I would think we all have something to gain by considering the various ideas. Hearing different things can challenge us and, either ultimately solidify our present position, or maybe lead us to seriously consider something else if the scriptural argument is convincing.

http://www.newadvent.org/fathers/120120.htm - The City of God (Book XX) Augustine

RB , if you don't mind I thought I'd link Augustine on the matter & point out that the Amill position goes back to the beginnings of Christianity. It is a very ancient & orthodox Christian doctrine. Why I'm always suprised when Dispensationalists act like Amill is a new unorthodox teaching & when what they teach is actually the new doctrine.

Thank you, brother Tim.

Soterion, there you go again with name calling. Can one of you monitors tell this person to reply to the tread, and stop attacking everybody.

Phil, you are barking up the wrong tree in my humble monitor’s opinion. I tend to agree with Soterion’s statement. For what it’s worth Soterion is one of the mildest and best natured posters here. His response to you was no more out of line than your statement about “using common sense.”

There is no reason that something big wasn’t prophecied for the end of 1290 days AND something big at the end of 1335 days, 45 days later. Please consider that you might be wrong. I know I could be. If the answer was all that apparent, there would be no discussion on the topic.

Good natured, hmmm. I don't think he's very funny. I spend a great deal of time researching these articles. All I want to do is share what I've learned, and this guy thinks everything I post is a joke because he DOSEN'T AGREE WITH ME. Tell him to lay off, were in serious times, the world is crumbling before our eyes, and this guy is making jokes +.

No he doesn’t think your opinions are a joke. He was commenting on your overbearing “opinions” and holding them out as authoritative. I suggest you drop it. I KNOW that Soterion is probably the most reasonable poster on here. I’m sure if you showed some humility, he would meet you MORE than half way. If you don’t see YOUR common sense comment as at least as equally abrasive, you might need to step back and re-evaluate. There is NO need for this. Look at his posts on his profile and you will see. Good natured refers to easy to get along with, not necessarily funny. My last word on this on the open forum. I suggest we’ve heard your last word. If you must, ignore his posts.  Nothing requires every post to be answered. I would think two Christian brothers could work this out amenably in such times as we are in.

Phil

I've never stated or implied humor in my responses to you. I know you are serious about what you believe, as am I. You had previously stated that you had spent the last two or more years studying this information. That does not mean it will not be subject to questions or even be agreed with. Criticism of scriptural interpretations from others, both positive and negative, should be expected and accepted here. It also helps if we don't take personally any negative responses to our beliefs.

It was not my intention to offend, but for you to look at the quotes of your's I posted to you and ask yourself if this is the right way to respond to others. That's all I wanted. I certainly never expected this conversation or any need for intervention by moderators.

All I can do is apologize for my part in any unintentional escalation of negativity here.

Greetings Phil, Jaime is correct and he should not be obligated to intervene just because of a forum member thinks he should. I personally think  soterion is a respectable and gracious person and he and I do not agree on many things, yet he has conducted himself in every way as becoming a believer in Jesus Christ.

Brother, we ALL have worked hard over the years laboring to be true seekers of the truth, and MANY times there are and will be people with whom we enter battle with that it gets very heated at times. I may add this as well, mocking one's error does not necessarily mean that it is unbecoming a saint, it could well be the means of making them THINK that their position is wrong. There is a TIME for graciousness, and there IS a TIME to be hard and firm, and we MUST allow our brethren to stand JUST AS FAST as we do without allowing our precious feelings to be hurt~I'm including myself btw. I said enough, but do consider this is a forum where we MUST allow every person to be WHO THEY are, as long as they know how to be gracious along with their strong stance, without judging men's hearts.
Quote
1st Kings 18:21-29~And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men. Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken. And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under. And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made. And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked. And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them. And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.
Phil, the ONLY people that get offended are those in error, those who have truth would NEVER be offended...why should they be offended, they should pity to those in error, that they may win them to the truth. Did our Lord ever get offended? No, and we know why did~ do we not? He had the truth.
Quote
Matthew 15:12-14~"Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended after they heard this saying? But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch."
Truth offends people, and those who have the truth should not be offended, and IF we allow people to offend us, then we are walking after the flesh, and not after the Spirit and it very well may be an evidence that we do not have the truth on the particular doctrine under consideration that causes us to be offended.

Greetings once again, Book of Daniel fans!  ::clappingoverhead::

When I left my home on the morning of Thursday, November 8, 2012 A.D., I didn't know that Lord Jesus was going to show me with such certainty who the king of Daniel 11:40 was (is).  I actually had met him informally on several occasions previous but that day was different, that day was, is, and shall forever more be the day the two kings foretold in Daniel 11:40 would "sit".

The relevance here is one of perspective, and when dealing with the Book of Daniel, I rank perspective to be one of the penultimate greatest sources in terms of "verifiable sources".  God willing, any one who can read can restate prophecy in other terms, but what is his/her perspective?  If you tell me it was a home run and you were in the rest room when the batter swung, I'd check with some one else.

I've sought to improve upon off-line and on-line accounts of what is happening in our world today as regards the Book of Daniel, there is real error in large doses.  The 'real world' difficulty with Daniel 12:11 is that it involves a divided kingship with thousands of years of conflict.  Conflict so severe that at times I have been in shock, dazed, disoriented, and in pieces.

For both stipulations to be met in Daniel 12:11, the 'setting up' has included just such attack against me for 56 years, 2 months, 18 days.

If one recalls the account of how kingship began in Israel, it was one of permissiveness by our Creator, amounting to an affront to Him, but He is gracious and kind.  Although Christ Jesus ascended into Heaven, He has assured us that He would be with us until "the end of days".  In a way, I shouldn't even be writing this, but knowing that my kingship will be followed by the Glorious Manifestation of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in less than 235 days, I know my report to be relevant and encouraging.

And as regards this topic and report, it has been difficult at times to arrive at such a definitive date of Great and Holy Thursday, March 24, 2016 A.D. as the 1,290th day of Daniel 12:11.

I have personally known every king foretold in chapter 11 of the Book of Daniel, the last one being the king of Daniel 11:40.  The mere occurrence of such ascertainment puts something akin to a 'thorn in the flesh' to a 477 year conspiracy against me which began with the printing of the Coverdale Bible in 1535 A.D.

If you have some query regarding the Book of Daniel and these final days, I am willing to give some support.
