EU turns up the heat on Israel over Jerusalem

"And I will make Jerusalem a stone around their necks"

European Union foreign ministers turned up the heat on Israel on Monday, pushing for Palestinian rights over East Jerusalem despite Israeli protests. Leaked drafts of the ministers' joint statement, set for approval on Tuesday, have caused outrage in Israel, where they have been interpreted as a call for the partition of Jerusalem. 'Palestine, that is Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem. That was not decided in Brussels or in Stockholm: it was decided in the UN years and years and years ago,' Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn said as he arrived for talks in Brussels with EU peers.

Jordan urges EU to oppose Israel settlements in Jerusalem
Jordan's King Abdullah II on Sunday urged the European Union to help put a halt to Israeli settlement building in Jerusalem, ahead of an EU foreign ministers' meeting in Brussels.-"Peace, stability and security will not be achieved in the region unless an independent Palestinian state is established," said the king, whose country signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1994.

Jordan hails EU plan to recognize Jerusalem as Palestinian capital
The monarch's remark was made during his meeting with ambassadors of the EU countries accredited to Jordan, according to a royal court statement. 'The king hailed efforts being exerted by Sweden, the current EU chairman, to work out a unified European attitude that recognizes East Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state in accordance with the two-state vision which enjoys universal consensus,' a royal court statement said.-During Sunday's meeting, King Abdullah urged EU countries 'to put adequate pressure on Israel to force it to stop all unilateral measures it is carrying out in occupied Jerusalem that may threaten Islamic and Christian shrines there and seek to change its (Arab) stamp through emptying the holy city of its Muslim and Christian inhabitants.'

Israel pressing EU to reject J'lem draft
Both Israeli and European officials believe the conclusions on the Middle East expected to emerge from Monday's EU foreign ministers' meeting will be different from a Swedish draft text calling for east Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state. However, what remains unclear after nearly a week of internal EU wrangling and heavy lobbying by both Israelis and Palestinians is exactly what the changes will be.

Armageddon's Trigger
Jerusalem sits atop land that would be among the least desirable in terms of real estate values. The natural inclination would be to look for more scenic, lusher beauty rather than the much-improved but still arid landscape in Jerusalem and the surrounding area. But when considering Jerusalem, one is talking in terms not of the natural, but of the supernatural

The World’s Biggest Problem

I am increasingly astonished by the obvious fulfillment of Bible prophecy in our day. I’m not talking about pinpointing the identity of the antichrist, or the so-called mark of the beast (I just typed “mark of the best
