Through the occult power of witchcraft. See the video link below to see it at work in the false churches. The Book of Revelation condemns Mystery Babylon for it's "sorcery."

Revelation 18:23
23 and the light of a lamp will not shine in you any longer; and the voice of the bridegroom and bride will not be heard in you any longer; for your merchants were the great men of the earth, because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery.

The Book of Revelation also says that the devil gives the beast this occult power to deceive:

Revelation 13:1-2
1   And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore. Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names.
2   And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great authority.

Witchcraft was always a sin in the O.T. too. Note the witch of Endor, when Saul was cursed
and died after disobeying God's rules about "witchcraft."

We don't have to worry about the devil today for he lost all his power and was sent to a fiery grave in the 1st century AD.

It's ok for you to have your opinion about the churches today-  but I disagree if you mean the majority of churches are controlled by Freemasons?  What's a Freemason? Never mind! ::doh::

No, Satan is alive and well today. He's having a field day in amny of today's churches because of the prophesied "freat falling away" that's occurring now. But, if one belongs to JESUS, he/she doesn't hafta WORRY about the devil, but he will still try to deceive Christians. (He doesn't hafta deceive the lost, as they're already in the state he wants them to be in.)

Poor you, giving Satan such power today! Run, run, if you can!

The prevalence of sin today comes from the unregenerated folks.  Christians are not "in sin" anymore. Know the difference. The Holy Spirit convicts us to change if we sin (sin not leading to death)

The falling away was in N.T. times when the Jewish Christians and some Gentile Christians fell away because of the fear of death from the Romans in those days if one was a Christian.

If you study the Roman/ Jewish war you would know the history and reality the Bible is telling us.

Jesus said, "Be wise as serpents and innocent as doves."

The metaphor of a serpent represents a son of the devil. The devil always has his people trying to ensnare and deceive true Christians. So what is Jesus saying? Be aware of what Satan is up to and you won't fall for his tricks.

Now the Bible doesn't explicitly explain this. Why? Because it's a holy book. It's meant to train people in righteousness. But Paul and the rest of the early church knew the stuff Satan pulls through people. That's why Paul says, "We are not unaware, brethren, of the schemes of the devil."

Right now, for the most part, the church flock are scattered. If you're still in a church, and you have no idea it's all false around you, well, you may potentially be one of the foolish virgins that Jesus warned about in Matt. 25.

Since the flock is scattered, I believe Christians are at liberty right now to proclaim these schemes loud and clear for any who are still caught in a false church scheme before He returns and gathers His wise virgins.

The foolish ones will be left to endure the hour of testing that's coming upon the whole world, which includes the antichrist being revealed, the mark of the beast being implemented, and massive numbers of foolish virgins being martyred when they refuse the mark.

I think you are analyzing the "be wise as serpents" beyond its scope in the Bible..

To be wise as a serpent is a timeless expression.  It simply means the opposite of foolish. To be wise. God said the serpent is wise. Not wise as an owl, but wise as the serpent that camouflages itself and attacks one if they are not privy to the snakes' devises.

BTW, Satan was like a roaring lion in those days, as Peter said.  But one needs to recognize that Satan is powerless today.  Sent to the Lake of Fire in Revelation as one of those events that would happen "soon."

So, I believe you are worrying about the evil one too literally today.

Yeah, it's definitely about the devil and his children behind the evil.

The NIV translation on that "And the dragon stood..." is not vetted with the Majority Texts. Apostle John is who is seeing the vision of that first beast rising up out of the sea.

No, Satan has NOT yet been banished. He is the originator of all sin & the father of lies.

And the falling away is going on right now.  I'm old enough to remember when homosexuals were reviled, & the butt of many jokes, not allowed to hold office or most jobs, etc. etc. & now, it's almost an honor to be LGBTQ. And, of course, that's only PART of it. Widespread acceptance of fornication, "cussing", recreational dope use, etc. is prevalent now.

And remember what the Greek word is, often translated "sorceries" in Scripture. It's pharmacopeia, which means "drug abuse".

The idea that Satan is already banished is just more pret garbage.

Yes, Satan is alive and well in the world today. Probably more alive today than ever.

Right ! He's often portrayed as being the master of hell, but according to Scripture, he will be just another "citizen" of it. The only special status he will have will be the MOST-HEAVILY-PUNISHED of its inhabitants, as Jesus said it'd be more-tolerable for  the land of Sodom than for Capernaum, which heard Jesus preach & saw Him perform miracles, but still rejected Him.  Thus, Satan, who often saw Yahweh Himself, but rebelled against Him anyway, will receive the worst punishment of all.

Satan is the source of all sin. All who sin are following Satan, the original sinner, who did so before God made man. The millenium will be relatively sin-free, as Satan will be banished to "the abyss". But meanwhile, he's hard at work now, trying to get as many people as possible to follow him in sin & not come to Jesus for salvation, while also trying to get even the "elect" to sin. He stays busy 24/7 doing this, and, given his might, we need the whole armor of God (faith in Jesus) and His sword (His written word) to resist him. Yes, "resist the devil, & he shall flee from you", but he will be back ! And ONLY GOD'S POWER can resist him!

Please, don't underestimate Satan ! He's the most-powerful of created beings, stronger than the whole creation, & only the HOLY TRINITY is stronger !  But, when you're on GOD'S side, Satan cannot defeat you !

  • That’s 666 YEARS, people.
Quite a bit of fear-mongering going on here by those who haven’t gotten scripture’s  message yet about Satan’s first-century destruction.

True that Satan was the original Father of lies and the instigator tempting mankind to sin.  But once in a fallen state, mankind became fully capable of generating wickedness by their own volition - no demonic presence or assistance required to commit their own offenses against God.

It’s an error to say that Satan is the most powerful of created beings, since Michael and his angels were able to make war against the Devil and his angels and PREVAIL AGAINST THEM, resulting in their being cast down out of heaven into the earth for just a short time at Christ’s ascension in Rev. 12:7-12.

That “SHORT time” of Satan’s ramped-up deceptive operations had already begun as John was writing Revelation 12:12.  Very plain language there describing a then-present loosing of Satan for that “short time”.  Satan would only exist a short time after John wrote those words, since God was then promising the Roman believers in Rom. 16:20 (likewise written in that same time frame of AD 60) that “the God of peace shall crush Satan under your feet SHORTLY.”

Those who insist that Satan is still around today are turning a deliberate blind eye to that promise God gave long ago to crush Satan under the believers’ feet “SHORTLY” after Romans was written.  Any attempt to dance around the simple definition of “shortly” only reveals that the person has an agenda opposing scripture’s plain intent, and an inability to take God at His word.

 Not in Scripture anywhere.

They prevailed only because God empowered them.

No, Satan shall be banished to "the abyss" when Jesus returns, & at the end of the millenuim, he shall be loosed to foment another rebellion against Jesus. THEN, he shall be cast into the lake of fire. All these events are still future, of course, as the pret garbage is false.

Satan is still alive & well, as proven by the prevalence of sin worldwide, including the rise of cults, etc.  The pret view these things have already happened is pure nonsense.
