Well, whether there's going to be an exact 7 year tribulation or not, I'm just going to make sure that I'm raptured with the Church to be with Christ forever. In the meantime, there's work to do and I would like to take as many people with me as I can.  Cool

Society sees christians going to church, singing songs and clapping our hands, doing religious stuff, having christian bumper stickers on our cars and christiany T-shirts. But do they see our love for people? Do they see love in action rather than in just our words?

Heaven, heaven, in the sky --
will I be raptured?  Will I fly?

Some say yes, some say no,
but to His presence I will surely go.

'Tis neither time nor place that is the key,
but born of God my soul must be.

I press toward the goal of this eternal bliss:
to fall on my face and His feet to kiss.

Use it all you want, Larry2.  Don't put my name on it, either, as I don't want recognition.  It is actually a condensed version, by about 3 stanzas, but really, who cares?  It's all that I could remember of it from one of the books I had written years ago.  Just the other day I looked for a copy of it, and couldn't find it anywhere.  Funny thing is, it's the only thing out of the book that I have wanted from time to time.  Good thing God knows what's what.

I'm just going to make sure that I'm raptured with the Church to be with Christ forever.

And where does it say Jesus returns BEFORE the Great Tribulation?  Because everything I read says AFTER!  As a matter of fact, Jesus says it himself.

Let's read the timeline Jesus gives us.  After all, if anybody knows the course of events it is Him.  Let's read;

Matt.24
[4] And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

The very first thing Jesus tells us in not to be deceived.  How do we do that?  Read, research and STUDY God's word.

[5] For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
[6] And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
[7] For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
[8] All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Many will come saying they bring Jesus, but their doctrine is wrong.
There will be wars.
Nation will rise against nation.
Earthquakes.
And ALL of the above is just the beginning.  Let's continue;

[15] When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

So when we see the AOD placed in Jerusalem, what should be our next move?  Let's find out;

[17] Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
[18] Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
[19] And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
[20] But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

Can you see the sense of urgency we are given here?  And why?  Jesus tells us;

[21] For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Because there is about to be a time on this earth that is so bad, there has not been one like it since the beginning of the world, nor will there ever be a time like it again.

So ALL of what Jesus said MUST take place BEFORE the great tribulation period takes place.  Understand, there will be times of trouble, and times of tribulation, but there can be only ONE time of great tribulation.  Now let's see what happens AFTER the great tribulation.  Now remember who it is that is telling us this.....Jesus Christ!  Let's read;

[29] Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
[30] And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

So it is AFTER the tribulation period that Jesus says He will return.

Let's review the time line again:

 - DO NOT BE DECIEVED!
 - Wars and nations against eachother is the beginning of sorrow.
 - The Abomination of Desolation is revealed.
 - The Great Tribulation begins.
 - The son of man returns.

Now let's go to one other place;

2 Thes.2
[1] Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

So Paul is writing about the 2nd coming of the Lord.

[2] That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

He warns us not to let anybody tell us the day is at hand.....until;

[3] Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Paul tells us the Jesus SHALL NOT COME, until there is a falling away and the man of sin, the son of perdition is revealed.

Now that goes hand in hand with what Jesus told us.

The man of sin is revealed, which causes a falling away and AFTER ALL of that Jesus returns with the saints.

Jesus "shall not come" until the AOD is revelaed.

Now that is the time line according to scripture.

There is NO mentioning of Jesus returning with His saints BEFORE the tribulation period.

I pray this was helpful.

Pray for wisdom and understanding.

"In Mathew 24:21-22 God speaks very succinctly about this time of Great Tribulation:

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

What can this mean? To understand this verse, we must first summarize who experiences the Great Tribulation spoken of in verse 21. There are actually three entities that are shocked by the Great Tribulation. These are:

1. The true believers in the church.
2. The members of the church who are not saved.
3. The world outside of the church.

The true believers are the Jerusalem above as spoken of in Galatians 4:26. They are the gold, silver, and precious stones of I Corinthians 3:12. They are the two witnesses of Revelation 11 who are killed. They are in great tribulation because they’re driven out and/or are commanded to come out of the local church where they had faithfully served the Lord. They fully recognize the fact that their salvation is secure in Christ and not in anything the church can offer.
The second group is the unsaved who are members of the local church. They are the Jerusalem which is now as spoken of in Galatians 4:25. They are the wood, hay and stubble of I Corinthians 3:12. Their trust and spiritual security is in the local church. They believe the local congregations will continue as bodies of true believers all the way to Christ’s return. They do not at all recognize that the church they continue to trust has been abandoned by God so that the Holy Spirit is no longer saving people within it, and in fact, Satan is now ruling in their local church.
The third group is the peoples of the world. Amongst them are many who are God’s elect but who have not yet become saved. Throughout the more than 1,950 years of the church age, during which God used the churches to evangelize the world the possibility of salvation existed in the churches. It existed because each local church was effectively commanded to be a witness to the world. But when the spiritual famine of the first part of the Great Tribulation began, there was no possibility for their salvation by means of the churches sending the Gospel into the world. This was so because the churches and congregations no longer had a commission to bring the Gospel. Not only were the churches in great tribulation but so was the world. How awful.
When Satan was loosed at the beginning of the Great Tribulation virtually no one could become saved within the local church or anywhere out in the world. It was the time spoken of in Revelation 8:1 where God speaks of a half hour of silence from heaven. This half hour must be understood to be the first part of the Great Tribulation during which God is not saving people by means of the Gospel going forth from the churches. It was the time that identifies with the 2,300 evening mornings of Daniel 8. It is the three and a half days spoken of in Revelation 11 when the two witnesses lie dead in the streets.
But there is hope. That hope is not for the second group, the unsaved members of churches who insist on remaining in their local church. They insist on remaining in the local church, unwilling to recognize that Satan is ruling in their church. Their local church will continue in Great Tribulation all the way to Christ’s return. The longer they insist on remaining in their church the more blinded they will become. Remember God warns in II Thessalonians 2 of a strong delusion God will place on them.
On the other hand, for group number 1, the true believers, the initial horror of being driven out and/or commanded to leave the local congregation will be tempered by the knowledge that during the last part of the Great Tribulation, a great multitude which no man can number is being saved. This will occur at the end of the 2,300 evening mornings of Daniel 8 when the sanctuary (holy place) is cleansed (is made righteous). The holy place is where God the Holy Spirit is saving. During the last part of the tribulation, when the two witnesses have stood on their feet and the latter rain has begun, the Holy Spirit will be active all over the world saving people in the environment outside of the churches.
Therefore, the horror that descended upon the whole world during the first part of the Great Tribulation will come to an end. It will be replaced by the wonderful fact of the latter rain. Thus, we can understand why Matthew 24:22 declares that for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. The time of the Great Tribulation is not shortened insofar as the local congregations and the unsaved members within them are concerned. But, they are shortened insofar as the true believers who have come out of the churches are concerned.
Also, they are especially shortened insofar as the world outside of the church is concerned. For the sake of the elect who still must be saved, there is no hindrance to the true Gospel outside of the local church, the true Gospel is being sent forth and blessed with the salvation of all the elect who must be saved before the end of the world. Matthew 24:22, therefore in a real sense introduces us to the third season, the latter rain.

"entities?" And here's a loving  Christian who likes to see others "shocked" It's always easy that way bc he'll say he's not going to be one of them! Self-righteous, ya think?

St. Paul spoke of only 2 Jerusalems. And i don't distinguish "true believers" from "believers."  That's nonsense.
And "members of the church who are not saved" ConfusedConfused  This one is not interested in bringing anyone outside the church to Christ, he's too busy playing fruit inspector & judge at the local church! Talk about dead works. Bag over head

Throughout the more than 1,950 years of the church age

First we need to understand when God's TRUE church was started.  Let's read;

Acts 7
[37] This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.
[38] This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

So God's church started in the wilderness, with the nation of Israel.

The Holy Spirit just impressed on me a thought on this "Halloweeny"

Superstitions of 7 years bad luck if you break a mirror!  Are we like the Heathen that embrace & believe such "witchcraft?"

What's edifying about predicting 7 years bad luck on Christians, han55?

So han55, any good news?

Are you seriously comparing God's Word to witchcraft?

Regardless of what you believe, you need to be very careful about that.

There will be VERY serious consequences with believing in a (7) year tribulation period.

Jesus tells us to FLEE to the mountains when we see the AOD standing in the holy place.

Now some are going to think nothing of that because they have been taught this is the first 3.5yr period where there will be peace.  But is that what Jesus said?  Let's read it one more time;

Matt.24
[15] When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
[16] Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

Let's think about this for a moment.  If this truly is a time of peace, why would we FLEE Jerusalem?  According to the (7) year doctrine, Jerusalem should be the place to STAY!  But Jesus tells us to FLEE!  Red Flag #1!

[17] Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

Not only are we to FLEE, if we are on the housetop, Jesus tells us not to run inside to grab any clothes.  Although that is a lot, it does show the sense of urgency.  Red Flag #2!

[18] Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

Nor are we to return to our house from the field for clothes.  This is just as it was when the children of Israel fled Egypt.  They had to eat their meal in haste.  Red Flag #3!

[19] And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
[20] But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

Jesus tells us to pray we are not with child or have just given birth.  He tells us to pray it is not winter.  He tells us to pray it is not even on the Sabbath when some places are not open for business.  This is serious!

Can you think of ANY warning given by Jesus Christ that had such a sense of urgency to it?  Red Flag #4!

[21] For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Next comes a time that is worse than any other time on this earth, since the beginning of the world, and there will not be a time like it ever again.

Did Jesus say ANYTHING about a time of "Peace" FOLLOWED by a time of Great Tribulation?  No He did not.

The timeline Jesus gave us was from the AOD right to the Great Tribulation.  Red Flag #5!

How many times and in how many ways must Jesus tell us this is going to be bad and the readers of Daniel had better beware!

People......if you are not in God's place of safety when this Great Tribulation period begins you will have only TWO choices;

Take the mark!

OR

Die for Jesus!

The sad part is that you don't have to do either....if you heed Jesus warning and FLEE TO THE MOUNTAINS when you see the man of sin placed in the temple!!!!

No there won't.

Jesus tells us to FLEE to the mountains when we see the AOD standing in the holy place.

Yep, he sure did.

Now some are going to think nothing of that because they have been taught this is the first 3.5yr period where there will be peace.  But is that what Jesus said?  Let's read it one more time;

No....the Bible tells us to flee when the AOD is set up.  That happens at the midpoint of the tribulation.  If you read Daniel, you see the anti-christ will broker a peace deal with Isreal...then after three and a half years, break that deal and set up the AOD.  That is where this picks up.

[17] Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

Not only are we to FLEE, if we are on the housetop, Jesus tells us not to run inside to grab any clothes.  Although that is a lot, it does show the sense of urgency.  Red Flag #2!

That's no red flag.

[18] Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

Nor are we to return to our house from the field for clothes.  This is just as it was when the children of Israel fled Egypt.  They had to eat their meal in haste.  Red Flag #3!

That is the same exact thing as v 17.  Not something different.  There will be haste, urgency.  Still not a red flag.

Again, more of the same, not another red flag...no red flag all.

This is the same as the first point you made...see what I said there, please.

How many times and in how many ways must Jesus tell us this is going to be bad and the readers of Daniel had better beware!

Yes, it will be bad...full agreement there.

People......if you are not in God's place of safety when this Great Tribulation period begins you will have only TWO choices;

Take the mark!

OR

Die for Jesus!

The sad part is that you don't have to do either....if you heed Jesus warning and FLEE TO THE MOUNTAINS when you see the man of sin placed in the temple!!!!

Not sure what to make of that last part.  Are you saying the "safe place" is for every single Christian on the planet?  Have you identified where it is?

In Christ,
