I have a theory on the abomination that both of you should consider. There are two different abominations occurring at different times performed by the same person.

Paul wrote the Thessalonica letters to the church in Macedonia, they contain prophecies and information meant for the church today. He said the day of the Lord cannot begin until the Antichrist enters the temple in Jerusalem and proclaims to be God. This act by the Antichrist is not mentioned in the OT or Revelation, only the church is told to look for this event as a sign the day of the Lord is at the door. If the church is raptured  before the Antichrist is revealed, Paul would not of needed to warn us of it.  This is the first abomination that occurs during the church age near the end of the first half of the 7 year covenant.
